JOHN HIGGINS CLINGS ON IN FIRST SESSION AS ZHAO XINTONG BUILDS 5-3 LEAD AT CAZOO TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP QUARTER FINAL​

China's Zhao Xintong took control of the Cazoo Tour Championship quarter-final against Scottish former world number one John Higgins in the first session on Monday afternoon. With one frame to go he was 5-2 up and threatened to build a four-frame lead only for his experienced opponent to cut the deficit ahead of tonight's decisive second session. :​

Mark shakes Neil's hand and says 'well played' which is something of an understatement. Mark looks devastated, as well he might; Neil was devastating there and only a sloppy effort on a pink to right middle in the final frame denied him the full house of frames.

Hi Bob !

On paper it looked like a stroll in the park but as we know nothing is a given in this game but Neil got over the finish line at the end .

If memory serves I think the first colour potted was the Green ball in that 9th frame , a 7/1 chance .

Defending champion Neil Robertson recorded five centuries (125, 103, 125, 121, 130) and three other sizeable breaks (76, 94, 68) to win 10-6, although Mark Allen made him sweat in the evening session of the Tour Championship quarter-final, recovering from 7-1 down to make it 8-6. Robertson faces either Ronnie O'Sullivan or Mark Williams in the semi-finals. :​
