Tournament Section

I believe the tournament announcement section here on AZ is a great tool. However I find myself having to open many threads only to find it's out of my area or even in another country. I am suggesting that we divide the section up into regions or states.

Anyone have any input on this?

I agree. I rarely look in that forum because of the disorder. It would be nice to also have a results section.

I once asked people to put location/date in the BEGINNING of the thread title to help this. Some do, some don't.

If you just set your cursor on the topic the little yellow screen appears.A lot of times the city and state are right in there. For the ones that it is in,it makes it much quicker to go through. For the ones that don't,you just have to click and wait, depending on how fast your connection is.However,I find this website to be somewhat slow.I have DSL and this site is still slow.

Another suggestion would be to do a search on the forum. At the top right of the columns, you'll see a "search this forum" box.Click it and then type in your state or the shortened version of it.Example......Illinois or Il.This might help narrow it down too:)

I agree with the truck

And alot of times it isn't.

Well, the ideal scenario would be to have a tournament calendar, much like they do on AzBilliards for birthdays.

Each day of the month could have a tournament mention and/or a link to direct them to the Tournament Forum of AzBilliards.

Seems reasonable to me! :p

i agree with steev on this one. if the location, city/state was just entered into the title of the thread, it would make it much more search friendly.

LOL! I know. I can't tell you how many threads I have read because the title may have read something like "9-Ball Tournament, Added Monies."

Well, of course, I'd like to know WHERE and WHEN the event will take place. So I do the usual thing and click on the thread.

If you look up at the top of this forum at the CALENDAR button and click, you will see a calendar displayed with birthday names. It would be very easy to put a brief description of all upcoming tournaments on a calendar like that, pending AzHousePro approval, of course.

AND there is a Tournament Section on the Main Page of AzBilliards Forum with all of the tours listed, and each page is by the month and year. That is also a very helpful resource when looking for an upcoming event! :)
