Tournaments in 2025 similar to Turning Stone, TX Open, DCC that are already scheduled with dates?

I need help and thought I'd turn to my AZB community. As the title says I am looking to build my 2025 calendar and am looking for events that are good sized big table events that I could look into attending.

My problem is that I book my calendar 3-6 months out with bootcamps so too often I don't hear about something until 30-60 days ahead of time, and by then it is too late for me to schedule. What I really need are events that have dates reserved so that I can block them out on my calendar.

For example, the Derby City Classic has their dates listed already so I have them blocked out. Similar with Turning Stone (although it filled already and I couldn't get in).

What other events are already scheduled? I prefer big table 9/10 ball, but would consider bar table 9 ball if there was a big table one pocket to go with it like the Midwest 9 ball tour. Thoughts?

Wanting to do advanced planning. Imagine that.

That Music City open is probably scheduled that week or so before Derby like usual.

You have the Vegas events Feb 19 - Mar 1, 2025.

That big event at Buffalo's is always at end of May.

Thank you for the reply.

I couldn't find any information on any of the events you mentioned online. Maybe they aren't posted yet. Is there a website I could go to or a facebook page with more information?

Music City open is played on 7ft. Diamonds. (Still usually has a very strong field.) Although there are always action matches going on in "the pit"

PA Pro AM Pool on FB is not set up for 2025 yet, but the TD usually announces his tournaments several months in advance. We just had a WNT event there last week, with an open One Pocket event immediately before. The TD usually has an open 9 ball and open 10 ball event every year. The Open 9 ball for 2024 I believe will be in Dec, I can check for you if that interests you. All the events are at BlueGrass Billiards in Philadelphia, on super nice Gold Crowns with 4.5" pockets and Simonis 760 cloth replaced about every 6 months.

The Vegas events are the CSI/BCAPL/Expo dates. Predator said they would be having events during those two weeks: https://probilliardseries.com/news/vegas-2025/
There won't be the World 10 Ball though as they have supposedly moved it to Vietnam.

The big event at Buffalos in NOLA is always that last week leading up to Memorial Day as far as I've seen. Huge 1P event, but now that I look at last year's flyer apparently the Open 9 Ball event is moved over to their bar tables. Now I remember why I only PPV the 1p. :)

The Buffalo's event is a high entry one pocket tournament. I think it's awesome if you are interested in playing in it, although, I feel like your question is really about big table 9-ball events.

Is there a reason why you aren't including the International Open on your list? I think they are around the same time every year (Oct-Nov.).

Thank you both for some good suggestions.

I'll look closer at the CSI events end of February. I take most of January off generally for tournaments as the DCC is a long event and in the past I've played Turning Stone, so generally February-April I am working hard. But if I miss TS I may be able to look at something in Vegas.

Buffalos is a maybe. I'm not sure what high entry is but I'll check it out. When one pocket entries are $350-500 I generally like it, but if they get higher I often am the worst player in the field and it's hard to want to donate that much money. But I've had a couple of backers want to light a little money on fire and put me in to some of these so you never know.

And Dave, the reason I've usually passed on the International Open is that I've always played the US Open. Again, it is a very expensive trip with a week off work, a week's hotel, and a big entry. I can't afford to play often. But this year I wasn't able to play the US Open because they didn't do open registration like they have in the past, so this year I am playing neither. Maybe I should just plan on the International next year. Thank you for the suggestion!

How about the Ocean States, also known as the Rhode Island State championships? Next to Turning Stone, it's the most prestigious event on the Joss Tour and has decent added money. It uses up just a weekend. It is typically in November, so you probably haven't missed the 2024 edition.

Yup. Nov. 9 & 10, 2024. $4,500 added.

Great suggestion!

I can't attend this year as I do have a bootcamp scheduled for that weekend. This is why I made this post, I need to plan further out. I'll put it on my list for next year.

Thank you for the help gang! I'd really like to get a reasonable line up of tournaments, particularly with 3-4 day events that don't have the same costs associated.

No official postings yet. But, Skinny Bob's has 2 big tournaments a year.
1) Texas Open, on Labor Day weekend, entries open the first week of June, held for 51 years.
2) Skinny Bob's Open, on President's Day weekend, entries open the first week of December, held for about 10 years. Now it is 9 ball, previously it was the Texas 10-ball Championship.

Big Tyme in Spring, TX typically has 2 big events a year, bar box 9-ball, but a one pocket event with it.
1) Space City Open, first week of December, December 4-8 this year. Flyer is on their Facebook page.
2) Big Tyme Classic, last week of April or first week of May. Nothing posted yet for next year.

Buffalo’s is a $2000 entry for 1P, $100 for a large BB 9 ball tournament.
