Tournaments or Gambling...Which makes you a stronger player?

I prefer tournaments have No Added money, just use players entries.... like they do in poker.
Most pool rooms can't afford to add thousands. All they have is a room, free heat bathrooms parking and air conditioning in the summer.
Why can's we just have 64 player events on thirty two tables $50 entry pp. Once a month, starts at noon finals at 7pm dbl elim. And pay the TD what he/she is worth.
In the 64 player tournament you suggest...on average, where do you think you would place?

players like that just
Well don't know about "like that" but I recall of Cole building a fence for $200 the next day.
He also had a deep pockets help available with a phone call to the MGM casino, uh resident. 🤷‍♂️
Cole played for his rig more than once. 🤷‍♂️
I watched him earn 25,000 in 2 days playing one pocket. He uh made considerable more cheating at cards. Shrug 🤷‍♂️

Both have their place, but I think gambling.

In a tournament, you put up your entry fee, wait around all day, and play a few matches. If you lose its no big deal, you are out a few bucks on the entry.

In gambling, there is a lot more play. Win or lose you flip and keep playing. There is more pressure. If you lose, you are losing a lot more money than the tournament entry fee.
