Okay guys,
I am just building my first totally portable tourney booth.
The idea is to have it be small enough to fit in my suv, but still have everything I need, and be stable enough to work on

Does anyone want to share your existing booth pics....

This is going to be a repair booth only, no cases or accesories for sale

I'm thinking that the table will be 6' long, 18-20" deep and 36" high

Any input would be helpful as I dont really want to completely replicate my home shop :)
 
Porter Cable Mitre saw stand. One of the members here used this for his Porper repair lathe.

Folds right up and with the handle and wheels, just wheel her right out the door.

You could always add a small tool box with a roll cabinet for your other goodies.

I saw some pics of Ryans set up. His looked pretty portable as well.

That stand looks kinda neat,
I was leaning towards something a little different, with 2 box type legs on each end of the lathe top...
I'll swing by home depot and princess Auto to see what's out there like the miter stand!

My set up doesn't fit in the back of an SUV. I need at least a 5x8' trailer plus my van.
 
I know a guy here in the Edmonton area who has both Porpers the mini and the B. His health is failing and may be interested in selling them. PM me if you are interested.
 
I know a guy who has rockers old equipment and a trailer too. Will sell it cheap!

seriously though, I have a tool box and built an box on top out of plywood and piano hinges. It all closes up and latches for when I am away. They can be seperated and loaded into a vehicle. I do not have any photos on hand but will snap a few. Chris
 
Ted Harris had a setup using a collapsible gurney.
The unit dropped down to about 3 ft tall and could be loaded by one person.

A good feature would be a way of locking everything up. You may want to do a two day tournament or just work certain hours and not want to have to haul everything out to your truck or worry about things disappearing. Just a few lost tools can make the whole weekend a bust.
 
There was one setup at an event that had two of the black & decker workmate work benches to set the lathe on and carried all of his tool and supplies it a stanley tote box. Simple but efective.
 
All good ideas.
I had an old cue companion that was easy to roll around on a set of cabinet uppers with casters on the bottom.
That served me well for a couple years.

Who in Edmonton has that equipment? I thought I was the only guy around here :)

I picked up one of those miter saw stands at home depot today.
A rigid model on sale.......149!
