Hi all,

I am relocating to the Charlotte (N.C.) area very soon.
Being an avid pool player I was wandering; does any one know of any weekly tourney's in and around the Charlotte area within a 50 mile radius?
Also are there any weekly league events (BCA or APA)?
Replies most gratefully received. Thank you.

You should move a little north of charlotte to get in a better pool scene imo. Like lake norman or davidson or cornelius.

Smokin cue on wednesday night
Randolfs in hickory on sunday night

Then theres the viking tours, jacoby tours, great southern billiard tour, etc. that all happen within usually 1.5 hour drive.

I know Rack 'Em in matthews has a tournament as well as Burrkats(Sp?) but thats farther down in charlotte so I dont go that far for those. Depends on where you end up living but the pool scene here is great.

Pooltchr is more IN charlotte so he would know the south charlotte scene I would imagine.

Depending on which part of Charlotte you end up in, there are plenty of options. APA is HUGE in Charlotte. To give you an idea, our city tournament 3 times a year lasts for 4 days, has about 100 tables set up and is packed. I think they send 9 8-ball teams and 3 9-ball teams to Vegas every year. The top 3 rooms in my opinion are The Green Room on the south side (Pineville), Rack 'Em in Matthews on the East side, and Smokin Cue in the University area on the North side. Randolph's in Hickory and Burkatt's in Monroe are a couple more pretty good rooms.

Our local APA actually sponsors Kelly Fisher. If you start a new team in the league, the team gets a free session with Kelly to teach or answer questions. Kelly, Allison, Kim Shaw, Val Finnie, and Tiffany Nelson are among the WPBA players who live in town. I think Allison and Gerta hold their pool school at Bailey's in south Charlotte.

All in all, it's a pretty good place for a pool player to live.

Give me a shout when you get here. We can go out and hit a few.
