Training books/DVD's
IMO You simply must get some Phil Cappelle books. Play you best pool if you are a novice and Play your best 9 ball and Play your best 8 ball if those are your games. The information inthe 9+8 ball booKs woud take you 5 years of playing experince to gain. The books will pay for themselves quite quickly in tournament and wagering $.
As far as true instructional DVD's I'd say pass on Mika Immonen's latest work. Not much there, plus it's an announcer talking most of the time. Bert Kinister is the man when it comes to how to shhot and control whitey, check him out. I have a video or two of his that I still pull out once in awhile.
Anybody have any advice for "advanced materials"? I haven't found anything great. Maybe the Pro series and advanced pro series stuff. Most everything I get lately tells me there's 6 pockets on the table and how to stand. The only that works for me now is practice, practice practice and competition.
