I'm looking for some training DVD's or a series to advance my game. I'm not new to pool and not looking for beginner instruction or trick shooting. Looking for advanced pool topics/drills.

Thanks!

Training books/DVD's

IMO You simply must get some Phil Cappelle books. Play you best pool if you are a novice and Play your best 9 ball and Play your best 8 ball if those are your games. The information inthe 9+8 ball booKs woud take you 5 years of playing experince to gain. The books will pay for themselves quite quickly in tournament and wagering $.

As far as true instructional DVD's I'd say pass on Mika Immonen's latest work. Not much there, plus it's an announcer talking most of the time. Bert Kinister is the man when it comes to how to shhot and control whitey, check him out. I have a video or two of his that I still pull out once in awhile.

Anybody have any advice for "advanced materials"? I haven't found anything great. Maybe the Pro series and advanced pro series stuff. Most everything I get lately tells me there's 6 pockets on the table and how to stand. The only that works for me now is practice, practice practice and competition.

Thanks for the tip on Bert Kinister, looks like he offers some solid advice. I saw a few clips of his lessons. Does his program come on DVD?

Thanks!

I own almost every instructional pool DVD that you can name, and especially given what you're looking for, I would recommend Jimmy Reid's DVDs. His banking and kicking instruction is second to none. He frequently sells his sets on eBay. One of them is called "Almost I know" and another is "No Time for Negative." These two titles plus, Joe Tucker's Racking Secrets, and the 11 DVD TAR set of Alex P vs Shane VB are pool player essentials in my opinion, and will teach you VOLUMES!
Good luck.

I searched for the link for you and found that Jimmy has a special going on for ALL of his DVDs for just $70!!! A rediculously low price in my opinion, but good for you . . . here it is.
