Transitioning from one pocket to 9 ball

This past weekend i had someone come to town and play me and we agreed to play a set of one pocket and a set of nine ball. I won the set of one pocket then we went to 9ball and my game really dropped from what my normal 9 ball speed is. I have read quite a bit about the transitioning but most of the literature just seems to jump around the subject. I was wondering what many of you do when switching back and forth that helps you? BTW i win 9ball set to. thanks in advance, tk

I would guess that the prob is coz you lost your object ball aim. Too much 1h bunting keeps you from building up focus on shooting ballX to locationX...the only really important thing in 9b

Or, maybe you play 1 game than your opponent, he plays the other better than you.

What I'd do is for the first game of 9 ball, and maybe the second, concentrate on shooting with a full stroke whenever possible. Use power shots even when not necessary to groove your stroke and tune it for 9 ball. Move the ball around a lot. It shouldn't take long for your 9 ball game to be where it normally is.
