Trash talking!

Rude Dog

<---Dumb and Dumber
Some people on here have nothing nice to say, ever! Why is that? I look around for posts that are interesting, or informative, maybe about a nice cue, or a recent match, and if I like it, I reply. But I see replies to posts that have nothing to do with the post, just rude remarks. Get a life people! Go to a chat room and cause trouble if that's what you're into. This is a pool forum, period. Granted, I did reply to the post about the guy tearing up his house because of bad luck, but IMO, he wants that type of feed back. I know this won't stop anyone from still doing it, but, what the hell, I'm speaking my mind right now. If anyone has a problem with what I say on here or if I offend someone, I hope they let me know. I say what I want without intentionally disrespecting someone. I'm not looking for friends or enemies. I just want to see what's happening in the pool world because I don't get a chance to get out there and see it for myself. And it's not just because of my parole situation either, I have some serious health problems slowing me down. Anyway, to those that feel this may be directed at you personally, it is. If you have a problem with it, let me know. I have no problem defending myself or clearing up something that may have been misinterpreted.

it's true....i don't know why but in every forum i go to there's always someone there that just got nothing good to say. I don't know why, but people always act tough when they're behind a computer. I believe more moderators should be needed and delete the unncessary replies. Not sayin delete every ridiculous thread but there is a line that shouldn't be cross.

Hey Blud, I think I met you before in Texas. Do you know Red Bird from San Marcos? If so, I think I met you through him back in 90 or 91 when he had me come up there to play his tournament. Then I went to San Antonio to Galaxy Billiards and won there against Buddy Hall in the finals. Do you remember me? Thanks for the reply.

Amen Brotha!! Well said. I always find myself filtering my thoughts before i type a reply up, and about 50% of the time i filter it down to not needing to post anything at all, and about 40% of the time im too lazy to chime in a 'Good Job' or a 'thanks for the info' type reply. I wish people would quit just going stright to the keys every time a thought crosses thier brain, or maybe pass up a chance to insult.

Blud,

He wasn't referring to my post. He was referrring to negative, uncalled for attacks - actually, more like your post above. I don't think you read the entire Rodney Morris thread. If you did, you would understand that Rude Dog agreed with me that it was better to get the facts out than to let people suspect the worst.

I didn't open this conversation - television announcers did. I too am sick of the fact that every time Rodney gets on television they refer to his wayward past. I just wanted to know what the hell they were talking about. Before Rude Dog cleared the air, I actually thought it was a lot worse than it really was. Also, I respect the fact that Rude Dog in his other posts revealed his identity.

How was it bullshit? He has a right to ask about Rodney's past. It was made public that he did time in prison. I know Tate, he is a great guy, alot of class. You don't know him, and you're telling him to get a life? What does that say about you?

Dog...we all like posts that are interesting, informative, about a nice cue, or a recent match. But instead of being RE-active to someone else's post and getting all pissed off, why not be more PRO-active and start your own thread that we can thrive off of and respond to. Something tells me that you would have a lot to offer in the way of stories, insights, and experiences. How about a chronology of all the cues you used throughout your life, what you liked about them or what you didn't? Or maybe some of the cues of other players? How about some tips on gambling or hustles? How about some road stories? How about how you, Rodney, or others reached that next level and what it took to become super good? A lot of guys pick on Silencer for starting nebulous threads and whine about it, well, I get sick of that too. They can just as well start a thread themselves and we'll respond if it's interesting. Sure, things can get lively and occasionally there's going to be trash talk, so what the fuck. I'd rather have some whacky things going on occasionally (not always) rather than a dull, boring exchange. Think about it.

NHP, would you want someone bring up about your past if it were something your not proud off? Or it could possibly hurt you and your family?

Tate is most likly a great guy, and I do not know him. My point is and was, why bring up crap, [true or not] about ones past. Why be noisy and drag a guy back through the dirt.

[will Tate's or anyones, life be affected, knowing or not knowing about his past, will it make your day better, knowing]?

About me?

Yes, I have had some bad things happen in my family. It's not a good feeling when someone brings it up, almost every day. Most have enough "class" or "respect", to leave it alone.

The guy has paid for whatever mistakes he's made. Let it alone. Nothing wrong with that. If this happened to you, most likly you would not want it aired........Right?

Most who are noisy, just spread more rumors, and before long, it's far from the truth. The one who's being talked about, is the only one who gets hurt. This is BULL SHIT...

The information might be public, but why make the guy go through crap over and over again? It's not nessesary. He's paid his debt.......

Drivermaker, you're right in many ways about this being Re-active. I'm still fairly new to this forum and didn't realize that this has been an ongoing problem. Just fueling the fire, now that I think about it. I will share some stories that I hope some will find interesting in the near future. But, as far as me being super good, I'm far from it. I used to be able to play but not anymore. And even at my best I wasn't super good. Thanks though

I'm glad you took it the way I meant it and not as a slam. I look forward to your future threads and posts.

RudeDog,

Just curious about San Marcos, I used to live there but it was before I really got into pool. Were there some good players there? If so where did they hang out? I was there visiting family about a year and a half ago and walked into a place in San Marcos called the "Hungry Stick" I believe, it was on the main square, it was upstairs and had a couple of snooker tables as well as 9's.

There was a kid up there musta been about 27 and he was manning the bar and shooting pool. Man could he shoot, I wasn't there 5 minutes till he was asking me to play for money, anyway I played him a few games for 20 and after I paid him for the lessons he seemed pretty cool so we just sat and shot the shit, anyway he started telling me road stories and some kid came up and asked him to play 8 ball on the snooker table for 2 bucks a ball or something like that. The kid was kind of a rude stoner type kid that you could tell still had some growing up to do, he gave the kid about 4 chances to back out and then said OK. He asked the kid if he wanted to flip for the break and the kid said he could have the break, "Shit two bucks a ball and your going to give me the break, that's some pretty good action." Anyway he broke and ran out on the kid. The kid didn't even have enough money in his pocket to cover the bet and was going to borrow the rest from his friends but the guy said "Just give me 5 and we'll call it even." So then the kid asks if he wants to play for fun. "What? I don't come to your work and ask you to work for free do I?"

Anyway I played the guy one more set just to see him play and left. I wish I could remember the guys name and knew what he was up to now, the guy was incredible and he told me he'd play anybody for any amount that walked through the door.

I live in Arizona now too but I'm originally from Texas, hope all goes well for you and thanks for any stories or info you can provide.

The Hungry Stick is the pool hall that I went to and they also had one down stairs with a different name. Red Bird is the guy that owned it, still does I think. He called me up one day and said he had a plane ticket for me and he wanted me to fly out to play his tournament. I had never even met the guy before I showed up at the airport. I stayed for about a month and we made a little money in Austin and Houston. But as far as there being players at his place, I have no idea. There weren't any when I was there. This was back in 90 or 91 though and things do change. Thanks for the reply.

Blud,

My understanding of Tate's original post, and please correct me if I'm wrong Tate, is that people on TV mention that fact that Rodney did time and don't say anything else. Some people will think the worst when they hear something like that, i.e., that maybe he did something a lot worse than what he actually did. The best thing to do is to not mention that he did time at all but if someone does, tell the rest of the story so people don't let their imaginations run wild. I think that is why Rudedog set the story straight.

Rudedog, I think this is a good thread and thanks for starting it. And, I'm sorry to hear that your health isn't good. I hope you start doing better. Sounds like you were a good player and I'm hoping you get your game back. Any time you want to play some, I'd be happy to play you.
