I don't know about the Travel Tipper but I have the next step up, a Companion One, and like it very much. Unique builds quality products, so I assume the Tipper is very good, also.

Can the Travel Tipper be used for shaft cleaning/repair as well? Much like how the Hightower Micro Cue Lathe III can have the extension on the left as well as on the right? I'm trying to make an educated purchase as well.

The Travel Tipper is used only for Tips and Ferrules. If you want to clean shafts you have to purchase the Cue Companion Package I. Jim
