Greg buddy sorry to hear you've been sick. Pneumonia is nothing to take lightly. It killed a guy here who was only 50 something & in seemingly good health. My buddy is fighting it now for a couple months at least. His Dr. told him to take a Mucinex daily just to help combat a relapse...working well for him so far. You may want to ask your Dr. if thats a good idea for you too. I'll say a prayer for your health my friend. Stay well!
Thanks Kevin, That was one of the contributing factors to My Fathers death, brought on by the fact that He just couldn't quit smoking. Could not get him to go to the doctor, end result It got so bad he basically choked out in My arms, and It had gotten so bad that every effort to clear his airways and perform CPR was useless, It's a bad thing for sure, and I wouldn't wish It on anyone.
I'd probably have gotten through It quicker, but the antibiotics from the doctor was cut with some other stuff that I had never taken before, and after the second dose I had a severe allergic reaction that I guess could best be described as a really bad sunburn. Face & neck turn bright red with purple blotches, so I quit taking the stuff. A week later and My face is still peeling a bit from It. I have some new antibiotics to replace them, but trying to beat this without them. I'm slowly getting better, just not as fast I may would with Them.
My doctor started to recommend Mucinex to me one time also, but then he remembered That I sometimes have an issue with My salivary glands, that causes then to stop working, and said that I better not take the stuff due to the fact that It may dry me out to much. When they stop pumping Your screwed, Feels like you have needles in the back of Your mouth, The gland swells up, and It can actually make You very sick. If anyone ever feels like someone Is jabbing a needle back there, then chances are that May be what's going on.
I Really appreciate all the concerns. Slowly getting better, I guess I probably have what would be considered walking Pneumonia now, but It's better then being bed ridden. before I could not even sit at the computer for longer then 5 minutes before having to crawl back in bed, so It's a step up for now. I'd probably be doing a lot better right now if the cold had not set in, but at least I can move around.
This time It was set off by a flu or virus My daughter must have picked up, she was getting pneumonia from It too, but Is doing much better, She is My first concern, So I'm thankful that she is doing much better.
I got an invite to play in the inaugural top gun tournament in Jax next week, but the deadline for registration was today, and at This point even though I feel like I'm getting better, I still don't know where I will Be by then. Not only do I have work backed up, but I would not want to play in It if not up to full speed by then. A few of the guys wanted to ride up there to watch Me play in It, so feel bad for that, but I decided not to. Maybe if they allowed walk ins, but they don't.
Right now I'm just trying to take It slow, so I can get back up to speed sooner. feeling much better then I was though. I've been down for months with this stuff before, and not being able to work was driving me nuts, so a few weeks I can deal with. And better that It happened through Thanksgiving rather then Christmas.
So anyway, thanks for the concerns. Like I mentioned I'm doing much better. You guys take care of yourselves, and be sure to be safe with what you breath in In the shop. That can bring on this kind of stuff too.
