great rings

hit the "Photos" tab on the top of the sceen between the "chat" and "new" tabs and go to the Fatboy gallery, there is a Richard Black in there I just got today, I played with it for a couple hours tonight, I like it alot, the pool room closed or I would still be there. It dosent give the feed back that a Szam does but it played nice especially on the first night out. it has a leather wrap that has to go. on this cue they arnt rings but individual inlays but look like rings, its next to an all ivory/silver cue. I like the wood and ring work cue more.


I also played with a plain Tad for years with one ring on the bottom-still my favorite looking cue of them all, I have fancy cues because I love them. But deep down in I'm a purist and my plain Tad is my favorite.

Nice Topic

I have always thought that rings are an essential part of the design of a cue. Simple rings belong on simple cues and fancy ones on fancy cues. So why do some like Mcworter and Wayne a few other makers that specialize in very fancy designs seem to exclusively use simple one piece silver rings? I am in the market right now for a fancy stick and have have looked at some of these on dealer sites. Many of these designs just don't look right because of their simple rings.
