Triumph tips?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm kinda fond of my ivory ferrules and of course I use a pad under all my tips. Although I'm using a layered tip right now I'm curious to see if anyone uses Triumph's. If they work as well as the Triangles alot of people seem to like and having a backing pad and cheaper price I'd like to check them out if I get a positive response. THanks Don

I do not like them. They are softer than my liking. I have personally seen them come off of the pad they come on, as well... It was an old box of them, but even still I would avoid them. Get a Triangle. ;)

Everything pertaining to tip selection needs an IMO in front of the sentence, so take it as such. I use Triumphs on all my beater cues, bar cues and house cues. They're definitely softer than a Triangle, and will need a bit more maintenance, especially if used for breaking. They also seem to be very consistent from tip to tip. I typically use Moori Med., Talisman Med. and Snipers on my better shafts. What I like about the Triumphs is that you can switch back and forth from a good medium layered tip and find a similar "hit". Integral pad is no big deal to me on non-ivory ferrules, bit it does make tip changes a bit easier. Price is right so give one a try for yourself.

Triumph

I use Triumph tips and have never had a problem with their preinstalled backing. But someone has mentioned to me that they had a problem one time with the backing coming off. They don't last as long as Moori tips but they are very consistant and I like the softer hit compared to Triangle tips. Definitely worth giving a try.
