Having trouble with certain Shots? do those run outs end early because of poor position? Lack of Control? well, lets fine tune that stroke, Shall we?

This first shot is trouble, or is it?

This second shot will test a good stroke, the objective is get back to the center of the table.

This third shot is trouble, not.

Run out over? Play safe? Not today Shoot straight in the face of the 2, the double kiss sends the cue ball down table to pocket the 9, as well as leaving a tough shot if you miss.

NO WAY OUT. RIGHT. The points can be powerful. I set up shots like these and make all 6 pockets, Frustrating at first, but very rewarding.

If a perticular shot is giving you trouble post it here and I will be happy to go to my table and try to find a solution, I'll shoot it until I can make it consitantly 10 times then like all shots I talk about I'll report what Ive found.

So yeah Im kinda fishing for new practice ideas...

Nice array of shots you have here. Your double-kiss is something I'll typically employ as a safety. With the 9-ball sitting near the pocket like that, it becomes a very good option to play.

Hi SpinDoktor:

There is a way for your layout to shown directly in you post now. Just highlight the url text and click on wei button in your editing window. This saves you and your viewers a lot of time; your won't need to use another graphic app, save a document and attach it to the post anymore... And the viewer won't have to click on a link, open a new window, see the layout, and close it...

For more info on how to show a layout in your AZ post, please check this thread: http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=64559

Your 4th shot can be an interesting try since the layout is a little difficult. (I love fishing. :) ) There is a chance for the 2 to hide behind the 8. If the layout is a little easier I think people might want to go for some kind of safety though (an example is shown in page 2) :)

The shot #5 does not match the description. Perhaps the fax machine stole your layout?

Two of those shots, the one where you try to double kiss the 2 into the 9 and the one where you try and bank the cue off of the point.....those are just for fun right, you aren't actually suggesting to try that when playing for money, you would look foolish to go for such a low percentage shot when playing safe is so much eaisier.

I'd bet big against making those shots and the 7 ball bank too...

On the first shot, there's a trick (a lot of ppl probably already know it but here it is anyway). You can shoot the cueball into the rail a bit, especially when the cueball is closer to the OB, and the rail will compress. Basically you hit the shot rail first, even if there seems to be no gap between the object ball and the rail. It's always possible because even tho coming off the rail will cut the OB a little... the pocket opening is wide enough to allow for that.

Same principle can apply to the 2nd shot tho I think doktor is diagramming it for a direct hit.

The bank is pretty scary. I probably would bank in the corner nearest me instead, but I can tell the CB path from such a bank would be tricky.

Yeah there is this special little trick I like to do when faced with those shots. In pool its called playing safe, a lot of ppl know about it, but ill explain it anyway. You position the object ball and cue ball so the other person doesnt have a shot comming back to the table. LOL.

Reread post please

You missed the shot on 2 ball a little as he was meaning a two way shot by double kissing the cueball toward the nine and leaving the 2 close to where it was, and it's not hard to do by just hitting full in the face

Any AZ'ers have any trouble shots they would like to discuss? I like to add trouble shots to my routine, so If you have a shot or a situation and your having a tuff time, poster er up, Id be more than happy to set the shot up, and shoot it untill I find a repeatable solution.

Yeah, I leap over buildings in a single bound, but not when anybody's watching.

You didn't explain the "trick" of making shot #1. You have to aim the cue ball slightly into the rail - the rail compresses so the cue ball contacts the object ball at an angle on the rebound. It also works with draw.

Shots

You need to stop posting the tricks of the trade, all these shots took me a while to learn. The seven ball bank shot, I've used millions of times and have even laid money that I will get position on ball down table. The only shot that seems far out is the last shot, but I have a friend that can do stuff like that regularly. The best shoy is when the two balls are inside the two corner diamonds like the seven ball shot.and you bank the ball in the side and still get the rock in the area posted in your diagram,I have people play a retarded safe like that, only to drop dead when I walk up and striaght bank the ball with out hesitation and get shape.I would put up the diagram but I can't transfer the diagram over some how.

Shot trick

That is one variation of the shot but you can also get the rock up table with straight 1-2 oclock and a lil twist of the cue.
