Trudeau Interview on Billiards Digest website

It took me a while to read the 7 pages.. but i'm done now!
Some people still wonder why the players keep their mouth shut?! Well you know: you are not supposed to bite the hand that still might feed you! I'm so glad some players had backers; it's to bad i was one of them. Oh men.... i'm still hoping......... i dreamed about putting a tour down for youth and women...but unless i hit a jackpot somewhere else i'm afraid my dream is over as of right now! Thanxs KT! say maybe there will be a folllow through; can you put London back in, so more players have the chance to stay in the top 100. Could you bring the fines down to 0...... how in your right mind can you put down rules if there is now way you can keep your part of the deal up and going. REAL RULES, REAL MONEY....bleggggggggggggggggggggggggggg:o

Just as an FYI, I would prefer that unsubstantiated rumors not be discussed here.

Mike

Hmmm, 1st deleted post in over 2000 and now first request not to discuss a certain topic in a few years?

I thought 90% of the discussion on this forum was peoples opinions, rumors and conjecture!

Which good, juicy rumor did I miss?

Dummy me, I think that all the comments on here are just unsubstantiated gossip, rumors, and just plain nonsense to be taken with one large grain of salt.

Everything that is except what Bernie posts. After all he is the sharpest tack in the group of IPT players. The rest are all stumblebums. Bernie now is all class. He is my idol.

Less I confused anyone please read the second sentence again.

Very common, it's called a "four wall deal". The casino gives you the space, and you produce the event at your expense. You can keep all income you generate inside the space.

And there is something wrong with this?

Not much different than your pool room when you think about it.

All this really does bring into question how accurate (ha!) his "10 million of my own money" claim could really be. You may be right -- a couple hundred thousand, and a lot of stiffed vendors, in addition to the players.

Which vendor got stiffed?

Let me reply for Fleecer:

BUT KT GAVE AWAY OVER TWO MILLION DOLLARS.....

**start mournful Grand Canyon echo here**
TWO MILLION DOLLARS.....
TWO MILLION DOLLARS.....
TWO MILLION DOLLARS.....
TWO MILLION DOLLARS.....
TWO MILLION DOLLARS.....
TWO MILLION DOLLARS.....
TWO MILLION DOLLARS.....

The players did contribute some of this money also. And, how much does KT OWE...OWE...OWE...for the reno payout?????

Hmmmm. I wonder if he was given banquet hall space in exchange for guaranteed room nights. Hell, that snake may have even arranged to get himself paid some kind of commission on the players' room charges. I wouldn't put anything past him.

What would be wrong with doing anything you mentioned? It seems to be common practice as far as I can see. Not to mention that it is good business sense.

Are you against a TD making money on an event? Do you think that people like Hopkins and Behrman don't want to make money when they have an event.

I don't think the IPT was planned to be a not for profit organization. Nor do I think it was intended to lose money forever. Without a doubt I believe KT really thought he could turn a profit. He just greatly underestimated the income potential and how cheap pool players are in general.

People just will not understand the simple concept that the more money that people like KT make, and other TD's, the more money the players will make. If the leader of the band is not making any money why should anyone else expect to make money?

What I don't get, is why hasn't someone at Billiards Digest, or anyone else in the billiards press, contacted the Ho people to see if this is legit?

If not, end of story.

You didn't miss a good juicy rumor because none was mentioned. Wendy said she had heard some things that she didn't like and I simply posted initials (which there are well over 10 people in the pool world with those initials) and asked if that's what she was talking about. That's it, no rumor was mentioned. Once again Mr. Arrognace has been able to censor these forums.

TheOne, you're incorrect in your numbers... Mr. Arrognace has managed to get Mike to censor this board three times that I'm aware of in the last 25 days.

Nothing would be wrong with it, in the context of an agreement completely fulfilled by both sides. In this case, however, it represents an ADDITIONAL investment REQUIRED of the PLAYERS, in order to get their.......wait for it.........wait for it......100K salaries --- whether they could play or not, they were forced to attend at their own expense, in order to keep their lock on the guarantee. Do YOU see any problem here, from this vantage point in time? Particularly with KT poor-mouthing about how much HE spent, and how ungrateful the PLAYERS are?

jjinfla said:

No, dumbass, I'm not. I'm not against the players making money either.

jjinfla said:

Perhaps not, but it was SOLD to players as a guaranteed "labor of love", by Sugar Daddy Bigbucks.

Except KT said he was willing to tell his accountants to pound sand, the money was his to lose, and he was "giving back" to the sport of pool. Alzheimers, anyone?

I haven't seen anyone who fails to understand this. All I see is you helping play "forget what he said", along with the few other remaining sheep.

I was pointing out that he probably paid nothing for the ballroom space.
Please pay attention Jake or you will have to stay after class.

Boy, you sure got me on that one Watchez. I am just a shill for the IPT. I delete all of the negative posts about KT and Deno and never do anything that would portray them or the IPT in a negative light.

And I run their ad banner out of the kindness of my heart.

Mike, thanks for keeping the forum as open as it is. I understand the sensitivity required of your position, and I respect your need to keep order and toe the legality line. I have admin'd on several forums, and I completely understand the difficulty and thanklessness of it. Keep doing what you're doing.
