Hey all, as some of you may know I have worked with Buddy Hall a few times with one thing or another. We have don e the Legends DVDs and also done some exhibitions along with Nick Varner. I spoke with him before I left for the Legends and Champions Southern Tour and we decided that we would try and put a mini tour together for Buddy Hall. I have some ideas of places I would like to go but that can change. I do not have very much time to make this hgappen as I am looking at the first 2 weeks in November.

Here is my situation, Buddy has told me that he is feeling good and his health is on the upturn. However these tours canb take it out of you in many different way and so i have to be able to do it while making sure that Buddy gets all the rest he needs and is able to perform at the standard he wants to perform at. I know he wants to be great just for himself let alone anyone else. So the tours that we do usually have 2 Legends and the work is split up if its just one pro they fins a way to do everything, Q&A, trick shots, stories and challenge matches. Its alot of work and alot of running around the table, so I think that we need to come up with something different for Buddy. I do have a plan but my plan mabe for more of a specialized pool purist that the average league player that would show up just to see trick shots (Not all of them and I'm not knocking League players) I just think that my plan may not interest them so much but I could be wrong.

So my idea is to do more of a story tellers kind of show like they have on VH1 or MTV. Where Buddy can sit and tell all kinds of stories from playing with fats in Johnston City to gambling inb some of the stranges situations you can think of. Talk about certain matches and certain shots an d get up on the table and replicate those shots. I know he can do this very well, also throw in some challenge matches too. Oh he will also do som e small clinics with a max of 6 students What do you guys think? Please any ideas of if this is a good idea and if its something that could be interesting to more than just the pool purists.

Just fyiu, I'm not knocking Buddy's health or ability. He and I have spoken on this and he also knows his own issues. I am glad to hear that he is working on them and from a previous thread that he is in stroke. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Sounds great, Mark! Please keep the Raleigh area in mind for one of the locations.

You know I'd be very interested in this, Mark. Just a matter of finding out if the location and price works for me.

Did you have another pro in mind to work with Buddy or would it be him alone?

Edd, do you think it would draw a crowd though? How much interest across the board do you thing we would get? Like I said its a specialized thing (I think) Thanks for your support.

Hey Justin, hope all is well with you. It would be just Buddy this time and thats why I have to figure out a way to do a show that people want to see that does not have buddy running around for 3 hours at a time. So more of a relaxed thing, like an audience with Buddy Hall. with Q&A session and his choice of stories etc with some demonstrations and some challenge matches. As I said just trying to find what the most popular format would be.

.let me know if there's ever anything I can do to help

Buddy's always been one of my all time favorite players and friends in Pool....let me know if there's ever anything I can do to help him achieve his goals with this project.

Hey Mark,
Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. Thanks. I just got off of the phone with Buddy a little while ago. He was on his way to the pool hall.
Many Regards,
Lock N load.

C.J, thank you for the offer. I may just take you up on that :) If I can figure out how it can work so that A) Its something that everyone can enjoy B) make sure that its worth it to the pool room owners to put the money out to book the event and C) it makes sense finacially for all concerned. There are alot of expenses to going out on the road and I am sure that as much as people would enjoy it nobody wants to go on a tour for 2 weeks and break even. I' am happy to hear any ideas anyone has. I may be barking up the wrong tree, it may not be something that would work at all.

It will work. If I can help let me know! Anything for you and Buddy. Did you all do OK last year when you came to New Orleans, LA?
Many Regards,
Lock N Load.

LNL, yes we did ok last year. Not sure if bringing Buddy back there too soon is a wise move. Its one of those things where you don't want to wear out your welcome ya know? Too much too soon can work against ya. Just saying from the business side of things. However if I could do another tour that quick I would love to do NOLA, Emmerald Billiards, Lafayette, We have to have the demand for the clinics and the show and you guys have alot going on down there in the next month or so. Otherwise I have NO problem coming to Buffalos again. I will let you know on the help and thank you for offering.

You are welcome, Mark. Buddy told me he does not want to stay in a motel where the car parks in front of the door. Said he wants to stay in a real nice hotel.
Many Regards,

I know, I know :) got to be inside. So there my expenses go up :) I know all the little quirks. Hell you would be amazed at what that guys has had me do to make his life easier. It will be in my book when I get it published.

Raleigh has a very vibrant pool scene. I believe there would be enough interested parties. Ewa Laurence was @ Buck's 1-2 years ago and it was very well attended.

Funny you should say that. I have been messaged by someone who suggested that area and also thought that if we could get Keith the Earthquake out with Buddy for 3 or four stops starting in Richmond, Va and working up to NC it may work. I got to tell ya I do love the idea with the stories those two could tell it would be great. :)

Gah, I wish my town had the support. I had SO MUCH FUN when you came through with Archer/Varner a couple years back. I'm in a few different leagues with a whole lot more players available, I could ask around and see if people would be seriously interested. And I'm not too far from Buddy either; which is always nice.

Yeah, we had a good time in STL. Thanks you, see what you can come up with for serious people, remember this would be a specialized market I believe. I have soem great ideas that have been sent and having Earthquake involved would really make that story telling awesome. Again I have to see what the deman d is before I call Keith and talk him into it :) if I cam maybe I should just call Jam and talk her into it :) JAm.... JAM... JAMMM

I really like the idea of having Keith join Buddy. Man, would that be a show! Come on, JAM, do your best influencing!

I would lay down some cash to see that if they came around here, as far as filming and doing a pool story on Buddy, The Flamingo in St.Pete FL would be a great place, it's very rich in pool history and retains it's old school vibe with wood grain panel walls and the Gold Crown in the front room.:grin-square:

I have figured out how much money would be needed to cover expenses and making sure that Buddy and (Potentially) Keith would be paid well. I have not called keith on this until I think I can make it happen. So all I need to do now if figure out if I could draw an audience for something like thius and then see where we can do 4 stops that are close to each other.

Again, the very best of look to you on this. Once you have more information, I'd be glad to "feel out" some local room owners.
