Trying to ID this cue

Hi,
I am trying to ID this cue. It is in my shop for restoration and would appreciate any help. I know I am not in the cues section, but I didn't want a bunch of opinions from non-informed dumb asses.

The thing bleeds Joss, but would you think a JW or an old Joss before the split. There is no i.d. marking on the butt plate, but this may or may not have been replaced at one time. The plate is a very hard and shiny material, where it is chipped, it looks just like broken glass, might be some kind of a nylon type mat.
The butt is interesting at 57.5 inches in length. the points are razor sharp and nearly exact in length. The birdseye in forearm is very nice. The collars are black phenolic with 20 maple squares in the rings. 14 pitch, SS piloted joint. The owner said it came with 2 shafts, but can only find 1 at this time. He also said that he thought he bought it i the late 60's or early 70's in Green Bay WI. I do know there were times when Bill didn't mark his cues, and I believe a couple years the early Joss weren't either.
At any rate, one hell of a well built quality cue, wish it was in my closet.
Thank you very much.
Rudie.................
UPDATE..............still gettin my ass kicked around the table by Rodcar on a bi-weekly basis........................

Josswest... another person who used that collar for a time was Randy Andersen and it doesn't look like his cue.

4 point cue

I have to say Joss West "
An early 4 point cue from Bill Stroud"
Dont worry about the length,
Bill made alot of special order cues:wink:

I can think of two possibilities! Richard Black or Anderson, in 1989 at the BCA Nationals in Denver, CO. one of my teammates played with a Richard Black with the maple rings as in your picture. One of my other teammates bought an Anderson than looked just like the Black, same ring work. I don't know Anderson's first name but I think he was out of Colorado, also I believe he got sick and passed away in the mid 90's but not sure.

Thank you Duane, that is what I thinking also, but I really didn't know what the very early Joss's looked like when he started out with Dan J.
Thanks again,
Rudie

Maybe someone would know what this cue is.
I traded this one in a couple years ago.
It is 57.5 " long, built like a brick =-$#@house, shoots awesome and has the biggest wood surround pilot I have ever seen. Not a fancy cue, but certainly a very well built shooter.
thanks

My buddy's regular player is a JW that is identical to this cue. That'd be my guess also

I have a 1972-1980 JossWest with the sideways JW identical to your cue. Here are the pics. Notice the similar 5/16-14 pin and how it is rounded off. Also the ringwork is identical. The ebony points are exactly the same. I didn't remove the rubber bumper but we have a match. Hope this helps.
