Hi,
I am trying to ID this cue. It is in my shop for restoration and would appreciate any help. I know I am not in the cues section, but I didn't want a bunch of opinions from non-informed dumb asses.
The thing bleeds Joss, but would you think a JW or an old Joss before the split. There is no i.d. marking on the butt plate, but this may or may not have been replaced at one time. The plate is a very hard and shiny material, where it is chipped, it looks just like broken glass, might be some kind of a nylon type mat.
The butt is interesting at 57.5 inches in length. the points are razor sharp and nearly exact in length. The birdseye in forearm is very nice. The collars are black phenolic with 20 maple squares in the rings. 14 pitch, SS piloted joint. The owner said it came with 2 shafts, but can only find 1 at this time. He also said that he thought he bought it i the late 60's or early 70's in Green Bay WI. I do know there were times when Bill didn't mark his cues, and I believe a couple years the early Joss weren't either.
At any rate, one hell of a well built quality cue, wish it was in my closet.
Thank you very much.
Rudie.................
UPDATE..............still gettin my ass kicked around the table by Rodcar on a bi-weekly basis........................
