I have some extra leather from when I made my Western style gun holster. I actually have enough for a nice tube style cue case. U have some basic ideas of what I need to do pattern wise. I'll just wing it. But there are some questions on things I might use. The inside tubes themselves? I guess I could tip apart my other case and find out. But that would suck. Any help and pointers would be appreciated. I have pretty much all the tools I need for leatherwork.

I guess if you're just trying to wing making your own case, you could use PVC pipe for the tube, spray the inside with glue and push some felt down through. Then wrap the whole thing in leather and come up with a latch for the top. Again, this is just a guess and i'm a complete moron when it comes to anything creative, but thats how i'd wing it.

Depending on the leather, you could probably soak it and form it to shape and forgo the plastic tube for the outside. Get some small tubes for the inside, sew some "socks" for them. . .

Electrical conduit if it can be had big enuff for a butt and shaft.
Probably can, the only conduit I've used was for one line.
Might be a tad lighter than PVC pipe.
Golf bag tubes if you can find them big enuff for a butt. Probably get one for a shaft.
Cardboard shipping tubes. Probably can find them in a variety of sizes. They would work once lined with felt.
A ton of things that would work if you go to Lowes or Home Depot and start looking.
Felt or another type of material can be had if you go to any material or sewing shop.
There is a couple of on line shops that specialize in all sorts of fasteners for luggage, bags etc. The same type that they use for cue cases.

if your good at leather work I'm guessing your good with wood carving too. I have done some experimenting, get cardboard tubes from a fabric store that match the size of hole for your cue, the tubes are used to hold fabric that there selling, most of the time they will give you the tubes that there gonna throw away anyway after the fabric is sold in the cutting area of the store.
Wrap the cardboard tube in wax paper with tape, put a piece" 4 foot " of wax paper on the concrete floor, place a piece of cue chalk to suspend the tubes on both ends of tubes, fill under then the top of tubes with spray foam, let it set for two days, use a hand saw or power saw to get close to your size wanted then whittle it to the contour or shape your after. Leather hand peened rivets add character too' it's similar to wood working.

Go to www.leatherworker.net and then to the forums and look up John Barton's posts. He explains in detail how to make the interiors for cue cases. You can also find John on Skype under jbideas - he is always willing to talk shop with other makers.
Depending on how ridged and thick your leather is I would just use like a billiard cloth to separate the pieces. Have you ever seen an old Brunswick leather case? If I was ever to make cases I would copy those but a little nicer. I could not find a picture of an old Brunswick but here is a current copy.

Here is another one. For this one we used an extrusion tube for the interior.

For the original versions of these cases the leather was either thin and bonded to cardboard or thick and formed. The interior was thin nylon or cloth and sewn or riveted to the shell.
