I try to store my wood in the same environment that it will be subjected to, in every day life. Storing wood in a air conditioned room & then making a Q that is going to be in a home or room with extreme temps or humidity, makes no sence to me. I like to cut my wood to an slightly oversized size, as soon as I get it. That will give me some room to let it move, if it's going to. Then I stack it, with spacers between the layers. I have a 12x12 room that is not air conditioned. That room is FULL of wood. I do occationally rotate the 1st couple of layers. I remember a conversation with Dennis Dieckman, back in the 80,s, where he said he likes to store wood in the rafters of his unheated garage. I wouldn't go that far, but I do what's worked for me in the past...JER
