Turning Stone Classic XXX

2 more guys that I wish were on the roster for this TS are:

Jeremy Sossei

Mike Dechaine

they would def have made a path to victory a good bit tougher.

best,
brian kc

Do they have vendors there usually? Clothes and cues or whatever?

Turning stone brackets

I went last year and I want to say they had about a half dozen vendors. It's a great venue to watch a pool tournament.

I'm on the fence about going this year. They only have about 7 top pros that I really would like to see. It seems like the quality of players is down from last year.

I believe Dechaine has been banned by Zuglan.
Not sure if the ban is still in effect.

Sossei's absence is unusual. His home base is not far from Turning Stone.

Sossei has been absent for a few months from the Joss Tour not sure why. Also Frankie Hernandez was banned at one time from the tour and is now back.

And I disagree with comment about field being "down" from past years. They're might be less superstars in field but overall the field is very strong. Even the lesser known regional players in this field are capable of making a run and knocking somebody off.

Let's hear predictions guys . I said earlier I feel like like Mika breaks through this time for some reason. I also heard somebody say Shaw

Dont think you did last time I was there.
Jason
Yeah that was literally our first day open....but we had SVB vs Shaw. We have all you'd need now

We lost Salt City Billiards to fire on 2/7/17 after 26 years open.. 6 months later we reopened 1.5 miles south with tremendous effort. It was a huge accomplishment for the players and was done to continue the history of pool as it should be. We are pool players first, a family with people of all ages and backgrounds. We are honored to keep this going here in Syracuse.

It's not down. This field is very strong. Lesser knowns like Shawn Wilkie, Ron Casanzio, Joe Dupuis and many others often give the elite players fits, and I don't see any easy draws likely. This is and always has been a very difficult event to win.

Like I said about 7 pros I would like to see and I do agree that there are a lot a extremely good regional players playing. The northeast region as a whole keeps getting stronger and stronger.

Only 3 of the top 10 USA Fargo players and 5 of the top 20. Could be stronger.

Agreed that US participation is a bit disappointing, but that has been the trend of late --- many top US players are ducking the tougher events. Still, this field is very tough.

Weaker for sure. Nonetheless, of all the "regional tour" events on the American pool calendar, this may be the hardest one to win.

TS II, May 2001. Those are the 48 players in the money.
