SVB seems to be in dead stroke on the final day...not good news for the others, eh?

I've watched a couple of Makkonen's matches, and he's been very impressive. Very rarely makes an unforced error. At the start of his match against Shane I thought he looked confident and ready to win.

Then Shane ran the first two racks, but of course that didn't bother Makkonen. When he got to the table he still took advantage of his opportunities, and just when it looked like this was going to be a close match all the way to the end, Shane came with some incredible kick safeties. It seemed to deflate Makkonen a little bit, and throw him just a tad off his game.

Shane ended up winning 9-3. I may not be the first person to recognize this, but what that guy can do on a pool table is unbelievable.

Jeremy Jones said while commentating the team USA vs Team Russia that over the last year, he believes Shane improved a ball. He even said that's scary to say.
Shane has the confidence of a Mosconi win and it shows.

Grabe and Makkonen are in a dogfight.

Lots of Finns rooting on their man in the Facebook chat.

Amazing that Grabe scratched on that 8-ball in the penultimate rack.

What kind of shot was it? I missed it.

Three cushions around with inside, and he scratched off the third cushion into the side pocket.

He hit it like a snooker player...too much speed and not enough left english....
...you gotta make whitey crawl off that third rail...especially on a Diamond.

Only a half hour to go. Can’t wait to the finals. I feel like Bob Uecker Front row seats!

I thought the rules stated there would be no breaks during a match, no bathroom, no smoking breaks, no breaks at all. Jeremy ran off, I guess to the bathroom while playing Shaw while Shaw was racking, then a couple racks later Shaw walked off. Were the rules bent for this or did I hear the rules wrong?

7-2 Shaw and he smooths in a full table bank shot on the 1 in the tenth rack. Not looking good for Shane.
