I know this should probably be in the "Non-Pool Related" section, but I think it's big news!

Last Friday, July 7th, my wife and I found out that we are having TWINS!! We are due late January- early February! I'm not sure what this will do to the cue building time, but I do know that I'm going to cut back on college courses and start working again.

Had to share this with you all! Seems like I know many of you personally, even though I have only met a few of you in person!

Thanks and wish me luck!

Congrats and good luck. I have twins myself, they turned 27 in March. They were a lot of fun, but then so weren't my other 2. If they're identicals you'll be shocked how much they are alike in non-physical ways. We purposely made extra efforts to allow them to go separate paths. They did appear to do that, but then their paths seemed to remerge and they are both now struggling artists. Though in their case the common artistic talent, which I'm sure is genetic, drew them both back to the same path.
Again, good luck and congratulations.

That's great Zim. Our twins are 19 months old now and really are a blast. I honestly don't think they're twice as much work as one. The key is keeping thwm on the same schedule. Good luck and congratulations.

Lol ...

Your in for a barrel of fun and frustration now! .... ROFL We have twins in my brother's family.

Remember to have their baby 'cue' bracelets made out of something that won't harm them when they chew on them .... lol

OMG Zim! What did you do! lol

Congratulations my good buddy. I guess that cancels you out for The Windy City Open this year!

Best of luck to you both!

Love always,

Eydie

That is just awesome news!! I am so happy for you. I will tell my Mike Zimmerman that he is about to become an uncle, lol. :p

This calls for an online baby shower!!

Thanks everyone! We have heard that twins aren't as hard to manage as most people think. Keep them on the same schedule and they tend to entertain themselves is what we've heard from many people.

I'm not sure what's in store for the Windy City Open, but most likely not, since they're due a few weeks after the event.

An online baby shower idea is funny! But... they would like to collect pool cues made from ebony and curly maple, haha!! Formula, diapers and baby wipes are always good gifts also, haha!!

I guess I'll have to make a matching set of cues for each of them to have when they are ready!

Thanks to all,
Zim

Congratulations Zim! Hopefully what you heard about taking care of twins is true;)

congrats man!
Mine turned 4 in march.. the best advice is to keep them on the same schedule.. these were our first <and last> and we didn't know any better how it would be to take care of 2 or 1 so it didn't make a difference... it's a little hairy until they start sleeping through most of the nite but when one wakes to eat, wake the other..... etc... hence the same schedule..
Mine are blonde haired blue eyed identical girls... it gets much easier as they get older <until 12 or 13 i hear!!> and they are a blast... they do keep me entertained!

Funny thing- they came to watch me play for the first time last week.. they were fascinated by pool..... loved retreiving the balls out of the pockets for me-- kinda like an automatic ball return :-) And As soon as they're tall enough to reach the table easily........i have new opponents <G>

Congratulations on the most happy news.

Once you find out the sex of the babies PM me and I will be more than happy to send all the unused clothes/items I have, even the lightly used if you want them.

Twins are wonderous, I couldn't imagine having a singleton ( though early on I did dream of it...;) )

Enjoy the ride,

-Mike

Mine were my first children and my boss at the time mentioned something I hadn't thought of. He said that I'd never know the feeling of having a single child that was the center of my universe. When I thought about it I had to agree he was right, though I wouldn't trade the specialness of having twins.
Zim also tell your wife to keep her eyes open for a "Mothers of Twins Club". My wife got involved with one and they were a great help and support to each other. As a matter of fact 2 women from the club remain among here closest friends to this day, 27 years later.

Zim, that's awesome news! Just think, they skip generations... just about the time you get your energy back, your grandkids will be having twins. :D

Twins are very special.... my grandmother was a twin and two very dear friends of mine are identicle.... they're fascinating to watch & learn from. You're truly blessed!

Teach 'em how to build cues when you don't have 'em in the pool room learning how to shoot. That should ensure your cue building time. :p

ZIM!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man I was wondering what was taking so long with my cues! And now I know, you was pre-occupied :) LOL just messin.

I swear kids are the greatest thing in the world!

Hey As for making them cues for themselves when they get old enough to play, thats a kewl idea,, just make sure they dont get them till they understand what they have, or else they might end up doing LIGHTSABER fights with them lol.

well hey have fun and best of luck.
