Two-Foul 9 Ball

.that game teaches at a very profound level.

Good points.

The same can be done (to a degree) in one foul as well. Which makes me wonder what actually is the toughest game to hide one's true speed.

I don't know much about hustling as I've never done it before. I always try my best to win. I just happen to try a little harder when the bet gets raised ;)

Two Shot Shoot Out is much easier to hide you true playing speed. It's got all the intricate moves of One Pocket, in a different style of game. You can pick and choose what you shoot, and how you shoot it to either throw you opponent off or communicate something to them at the unconscious level. Everything is revealed playing this game, this isn't true at all playing "one-foul-ball-in-hand".....it's really not close at all.

You can find out a LOT about a player playing them SHOOT OUT for a few hours.....and quite a bit in a few minutes......this game teaches at a very profound level how much real pool knowledge someone has.....or doesn't have.

Maybe not in your world. Ask FatBoy what the percentages of "jump shots" are when he's seen it played.....especially the HIGH DOLLAR matches in Las Vegas. :D

I don't need to ask anybody anything about how to play two-foul. Maybe in your world you do.

You had a week to come up with something, and that's it?

Definitely a new alter ego...and strangely familiar. Maybe from Chicago.

Best,
Mike

You two guys actually call yourselves men and yet are constantly on your knees for another man. Very strange, not that there's anything wrong with that.

Multi-quoting, too! Absolutely a reincarnation or you just know how to make friends easily. Nice work on the pseudo gay reference. sSig_heeheehee.gif

Just cause you don't know what your talking about and have nothing else your going to play the gay joke card. Do you need another week to come up with something. Not like it's going to be that much better. Is this push & pool?

I've never heard of jumping in 'Two Shot Shoot Out' being illegal, it was just not being done until "Lil" Earl Strickland started doing it in Texas (he was living in Houston).

Earl tells the story better than I could about how the older players reacted to him jumping his cue ball over object balls. It's hilarious, I'm sure Joe Rogan would have fun imitating him doing this "skit".

I was playing in Dallas right after he came through and gave "Little Al" the Wild 6 playing SHOOT OUT and heisted him....people in Texas were buzzing about the jump shots for months....it was exciting to see the way Earl changed the game for some people. :D

looks like he got all his $$$ + his gold fillings

It's Ok. If there's one thing I figured out, is that the first ones to through the gay thing around are usually the ones who love the taste of foreskin.

Where did you go to school? It's "throw" and "you're" dummy.

If you want to think I don't know what I'm talking about why don't you reference the 1st post in this thread and point out my errors.

Your idol has done nothing but knock this thread from the first. You've done nothing yourself to help anyone learn how to play "two-foul" 9 Ball.

I'll be gone for a few days, I have to get my wheelchair aligned (ran it into a tree on Friday) and then get the oil changed. But, as McArthur said, I will be back (or was that Arnold).

There's nothing like the small town mentality.

Green City R-1 ...... I'm so thankful to grow up in a town of 629 with one pool hall, one grocery store and no street lights. There's nothing like the small town mentality. :D

Your some square leaving in your moms basement, playing bumper pool having delusions of grandeur.
Spelling..:rotflmao1: my Idol..:rotflmao1:

There wasn't anything "pseudo" intended at all. Quite the opposite.

Hey, it's been a while since we last talked under your previous screen name. You still form your sentences the same way and that dismissive tone...you've still got it! You are THE master of the drive by troll.

You're going away? sSig_yeahright.gif I don't think so. You're staying under the radar to keep the mods off of your posts. Just a matter of time...

Two shot question CJ.

While we have CJ here. Have the Mosconi cup organizers ever talked about adding the push.

The weaker players like it better too....they just need more "weight" (handicap).

Everyone likes strategic games to gamble at, this is the driving force behind the popularity of poker.....they identified what people like about gambling and gave it to them......in large doses. :D

One foul is a diluted version of pool and doesn't have enough "meat" for a true gambler's appetite....one foul is "milk" to gamblers.....it's better than nothing, but no one will ever want to watch it very long (without a bottle and a nap;)).....the average viewing is 3 minutes on line because there's no "hook" to keep people entertained.

one pocket is the best game to match players of differant skill level

an entire system of production that captures the same emotional attachment as........

No, but it wouldn't be a good "fit" for their format. The Two Shot Shoot Out has to be an entire presentation of it's own......and I really don't think the team format is ideal.

The one thing the Mosconi Cup brings to the table is staged excitement and it works. As far as the Game is concerned the races are too short and the players don't have the opportunity to shoot that "all or nothing shot" very often. The Mosconi Cup does well in Europe and Asia, but for it to get ratings in the USA there needs to already be an established Pocket Billiards Show that ISN'T a team format. imho

We are working on (Our primary focus is the Million Dollar Challenge Documentary at this moment, and it's almost done) is an entire system of production that captures the same emotional attachment that other sports like football, basketball, MMA and hockey capture.....there must be the "sparring" and the "Challenge," or I like to see it as a "Dare"......like in poker, not one cares about anything but the "all in" situation.....it's all about the last card, the pressure, the "dare".....and that's what we've discovered pool has had all this time.....however, with the "one-foul-ball-in-hand" rules it's been covered up and forgotten about.

Playing one foul rules is like giving football plays and extra down (5 total) and making it mandatory to punt on 5th down......it would kill the game, like one foul eventually killed 9 Ball......we didn't notice it in the 90s because we were "riding the wave" of 'The Color of Money' - now it's painfully obvious that no one cares about watching....there's simply no excitement, pressure, or "dare" generated. 'The Game is our Teacher'

The rules have been holding 9 Ball back for many years, isn't it time for a change?

You may be right, however, One Pocket is not a good spectator game. Two Shot Shoot Out is the best spectator game by far. One foul ball-in-hand is getting more and more boring to watch, it's just "running easy tables," and "ducking" to try to get ball-in-hand.

The rules have been holding 9 Ball back for many years, isn't it time for a change?

You waited 238 posts before finally posting something worthwhile? We could've been friends a long time ago if this had been your second or third post in this thread.

I've never seen 2-foul played in a large tournament setting but it sure would be nice to see. Those guys playing in the Mosconi Cup look like idiots when they have to kick at balls or try to hook someone on a safety. It's like a "bumper cars" version of 9 ball.
