Agreed! For me it is not about the money either. I enjoy the competition.

They should change it for the Championship rounds! But on the other hand at the qualifiers most of the girls don't play anywhere near your speed! In 2005 I watched some of the females at our qualifier in Miami. The best player in the field was Amy Poulter. The next best female in the field didn't look to play better than a low skl 5 at best! Amy pretty much cake walked thru that field.

You wont have to go far .......the tournament is in Tampa this year ...


I played in a qualifier last year , didn't make it to the big dance .....will try again this year ....not sure where yet ............

So basically, you are telling me I should come to Miami to qualify? LOL j/k
I understand that the caliber of player might be slightly lower, but I still think a race to 5 is waaaay short. When I qualified and won in 2006, I had more double hill matches that I don't care to remember :) As matter of fact, all of my opponents reached the hill before me! with the exception of the finals!
I just think that the women's race should be to 7, shouldn't be too hard to accomodate considering the women's field is less than 28 players.
Oh well, it is what it is! ;)

Hard to believe there are that many females that could get on the hill before you in your area...they certainly would not have down here. Amy was the best player in the tournament by far and I think you could spot her.

All it took was a couple of lucky rolls and a couple of lucky shots...:)
Granted I fought back, but that's the difference in the longer race, the better player should 'always' pull it out. Not that a race to 7 is long, but definitely better than 5. Especially, when 8 ball is APA format (slop)....a couple of lucky 'safes' and next thing you know you are down!
In any case, I hope to see you soon!!!
 
I just sent in for my packet...as soon as I get it I will send in my entry fee....this should be fun...My pool hall is sponsoring me, paying for my trip down and back, Hotel, and food....and even giving me 3 nice embroidered Polo shirts......Cant wait!
