Well, skids happen, rolls happen. It just seems like some players would prefer matches be held in humidity and climate controlled clean rooms with perhaps a ref to clean the cue ball between each shot.
At what point is the line between valid expectations and peacock prima donna expectations? I’m sure many of us remember backed napped cloth, pool rooms without AC with temps and humidity playing havoc with cloth and rails that were liberally coated with talcum powder from players trying to cope with humidity & balls that’s weren’t always pristine clean and cubes of Masters all over the rails.
Yet somehow 100+ ball runners were fairly common and we dealt with conditions and it made us well rounded mentally tough players. I guess I’m just a dinosaur but it all seems to be becoming a bit prissy to me. Players dog it and reach for the excuse file instead of just owning it and focusing on making the most of their next opportunity.
