At the Turning Stone many had bracket issues using IE !!!

Firefox works for me !

:groucho:

I had no issues with IE at the Stone. I use IE for all streams and have no problems. Johnnyt

If you haven't been to an Open, I'd definitely suggest going, though. The experience at Q-Masters is worth the travel time. ;)

It is a fun tournament for railbirds. I enjoyed each Open I went to. It was the week-long stay and expenses incurred that puts a bite on me going now. I don't have work coverage anymore, and I can't afford to take that much time off of work. It's only a 3.5-hour drive from me, and a beautiful drive, I might add. Virginia is a great state once you leave D.C. proper. The rolling hills, green grasss, trees, foilage, it's very scenic.

This tournament room, though, is way smaller than the Chesapeake Conference Center, unless they have remodeled. I was there when it was Holiday Inn. Now it's a Marriott.

oh i've heard many stories of the Open, that don't bear repeating.... and yes, Q Masters speaks for itself - albeit i've never been. maybe 1 day i'll be included in The Boys' Club Annual Open Trip (or i'll surprise them).

so let me ask you this - yáll are 3.5 hrs' drive, and yáll aren't going in, even for the day?

Not even Homeland Security knows yet.. I'm waiting to find out too. Johnnyt

I have 2 guys from my local hall that didn't get byes. Hopefully one of them gets on. Good possibility Kevin might since he is playing "The Cannon". We will see!

I don't see any of the usual players from the Philippines and Alex Pagulayan is not in the list. And a number of players that usually go from the US.

Maybe I missed it, but are there any females in this year's tournament?[/QUOTE]

Monica Webb

At least he doesn't have to use a bridge :)

I can understand why many of the Filipino players chose not to play. Helfert said that some of their checks bounced or that they were given the run around.

I am surprised Alex isn't playing considering he lives in the US now if I'm not mistaken. It isn't as difficult or costly for him to get the tourney

...What's unusual is that a player who gets a bye and wins one match is already in the money, before he hits his first ball. How sweet it is, as Jackie Gleason would say. ...

JAM, that's true if they pay 96 places like last year. But with the number of entrants down to 170, might they cut back to paying 64 places instead of 96? Anyone know whether (and how) adjustments will be made in the size and number of prizes because of the turnout?
