UK Open 2025 Telford, UK, May 6-11

I'd love to see Wang Hung Hsiang or Lu Hui Chan (two TW journeymen with great attitude, style and determination) do something. A lot of the TW players were on the fence when committing to put the money into travel, so I'd like to see them make the most of it. Both very capable.

Like watching Shaw play, hate his attitude. About time he did something big.

Manas, OI, Alawadhi, Akdag, Alnar... all entertaining and capable players.

Fact is, there's a lot of players who can take this, and all they need is a good day... Everyone gets too in their heads playing Filler, and he's likely to take it.

Lin Ta Li is dangerous. Took a lot of money from a friend of mine haha not so much an unknown here, but in the world of Fargo, maybe.

you live in chinaland though. to us he's just a new funky combination of letters

i think it was boyes that talked about him in comms, so he must have stood out somehow. we all know the top two or three in the taiwanese pecking order, but after that, who are the best?

yea looking good for the favorite filler now with several title contenders already out.

taiwan player lin ta li is an unknown entity. no fargorate, but obviously good enough to beat feijen and go unscathed to single elim
He is listed as Ta-Li Lin, 782. He has anout 1,500 games in the system with 500+ in the last year. Notable match wins in the last year or two have been against J L Chang twice, Yu Lung Chang, Quoc Hoang Duong, and Thorsten Hohmann.

2 Finnish players in last 64. Uski is solid and did beat Oi earlier... New name for most of people is SUPER FAST paced Arseni Sevastyanov. He was player of the year 2024 in Finland. Won pool, Pyramid and Finnish Kaisa, Finnish Championchips last year.
I lost semis vs him last weekend in small open in our club. He played perfect match and my break did not work so it took about 15 min to finish me 8-1. I got one chance and ran that out...
If you can watch him play and like fast pool check him out. I don´t know how fast he is on 4 inch pockets but Finnish Kaisa tables are very tight and he plays that fast too.
took some info from his instapage...

uski is in a tussle with fraser patrick

Is there any progress on WNT having an Apple TV app? I don't really want to pay that much just to watch on my computer screen.

Fraser Patrick fan club now forming. Not often that someone I've never heard of reaches Day 5 at a Matchroom major. Well played.
Was just coming here to post about him, winning Marco Teutcher (798), Eklent Kaci (832), Jani Uski (788) and Liu Ri Teng (785) + few other lower rated players puts him well above 800 in his performance so far.

Thanks to fellow poster JBart65 for enlightening me about Nguyen Ahn Tuan (aka Tkon). He's into Day 5 and that's a fine achievement. Wouldn't it be something if he reached Day 6? Wish him the best.

Not a big surprise….he’s been Scottish amateur snooker champ twice….now a snooker pro….can knock ‘em in.
