UK Open 2026, London, May 26-31

Table 4 has two Vietnamese commentator. Pretty cool.

so are the KO bros done with WNT? also missing some big names, svb, biado, chua
Ko's might not be entirely done. The WNT ad for the US Open in Texas pictures Ko Pin Yi. Good chance he and his brothers show up for the US open - there's no conflict with the stuff they are doing in China.

Ko Pin Yi also played in a WNT event in Taipei in January, which he won.

SVB, Biado and Chua are pretty much the only big names missing from the UK Open. Throw in Albin Ouschan, too.

Otherwise a very strong field.

If anyone hasn't noticed, WNT is using new Dynasphere balls. Called Titan. Press release today announced the deal.

WNT claims the best yet for TV tables.

Four ball is still pink, 5 ball still purple, 9 ball has the black stripe.

joe prince beating marvin asis is an upset. prince plays GB9 and ultimate pool USA, i would estimate he's in the 710-730 range

stuart bingham beating soufi is a bit surprising, but i knew he can play good 9-ball

One thing I love about this tournament is that it's literally the first time I've ever seen a set of balls where it's easy to tell all the balls apart. The two ball and the six ball are the biggest improvements, and the seven is now easy to tell from the three.

Now if they could just stick to these colors and not keep switching them around like baseball teams keep switching jerseys.

Are they playing in a gymnasium?View attachment 906532
It's a sports and leisure centre with an events hall. Looks like they've put some tables in the sports hall part rather than the events hall for some reason. Not been but heard people that have went in previous years mention it stank of chlorine from the swimming pool. Not the most illustrious venue for what's supposed to be one of Matchroom's majors!

Me tuning in late to watch the UK Open 2026 for the very first time (Table 8) be like:

- No carpeting at events run by Matchroom?:oops: Well, okay...
- Tiffany's ball????? What the fuuuuk!!!

Did anyone go to Brentwood today?

If so, I have some questions as I will probably be attending from Thursday onwards.

1. Are there any food vendors inside the arena?
2. Is there any merchandise being sold?
3. What is the seating like? I imagine it's going to be really quiet before Saturday & Sunday.

Just googled him out of curiosity, he beat Woodward when he was 17 in 2022 European Open and he won the junior event at the U.S open that year too. Possibly a good young player that is just starting to deliver on their potential?
Alghamdi was an aspiring youngster when he participated in Junior Worlds. Done that at least twice, maybe more, if memory serves me.
Since then he progressed and is a threat to almost anyone (he can not hang with Fargo top 20 at distance, but an occasional set in winner's break format is far from a shocker, IMO).
