any one know, given the current percentage points, what will happen if hohmann loses and orcollo wins, how many games does thorsten need to winto still advance? please help
 
sorry, getting one and two word texts from both charlie and thorsten himself, stuff like "he lost" and Its over 8-7, very hard to decipher in the heat of the moment. if you want, i can stop updating?

I would prefer you to stop updating. Your wrong scores are just toying with people's emotions...seriously. I'd rather just wait another 30 seconds for the official scores.

BTW, the IPT website says Manalo won 8-6, not 8-7.
 
I ran some quick numbers and it looks like if Hohmann loses and gets 0-4 wins Orcollo needs any win. If TH gets 5 or 6 wins orcollo must win 8-6 or better and if TH gets 7 wins DO must win 8-5 or better.

That was a pretty critical mistake. In this case No news is better then Wrong News. Thanks, But please try harder to be accurate.:cool:
 
Ouch, a little harsh there.

I say keep with the updates. Most of them are correct.

If Eurosport can get Efren/Orcullo's match wrong then you're allowed some leeway.

Yes. In fact, Thorsten doesn't even have to lose by a lot if Orcullos manages to win by a lot (8-1. 8-0)

fair enough, thats why i asked. I would be annoyed too. I was just trying to deliver timely and accurate info. I know if i was interested in a score, two hours+ is a longime to wait, as opposed to getting regular updates of scoring during the match.

Interesting. With Hohmann playing Manalo Orcollo is definitely still alive.

Also interesting is that Manalo is now in a position to have some say over who he plays tomorrow. If he preferred to play Hohmann he could insure that, but something tells me he's going to do his best to beat Hohmann. Still, now that he's already assured of being in the finals, I would think there might be a chance of some psychological relaxation after such a grueling week of pool.

Orcullo wins....resulting winning %
8-0...56.79%
8-1...56.64%
8-2...56.49%
8-3...56.33%
8-4...56.18%
8-5...56.03%
8-6...55.88%
8-7...55.73%

Hohman loses...resulting winning %
7-8...56.00%
6-8...55.87%
5-8...55.75%
4-8...55.62%
3-8...55.49%
2-8...55.36%
1-8...55.23%
0-8...55.10%

Wow...this is closer than I thought. If Dennis manages to only have 5 or fewer losses against Stalev, he's guaranteed to go through if Hohmann loses against Manalo.

Everyone check my math. I'll double check myself.
