I found this picture on cue addicts and it about blew my mind. Look how much figure that birdseye has. Thats the best piece of birdseye I believe i've ever seen. If i could have a jerry franklin no pointer southwest made from wood exactly like that i'd never buy another cue for the rest of my life. Unfortunately even though if I had the wood i'd never have it made by Jerry Franklin :[.

That actual cue was made by Paul Rubino.

Top of mine. Not an old growth like Rubino's but not too shabby I think.

Did you notice the double-phenolics at the A-joint area?
It's a BREAK-JUMP cue! :D

Yes, i went to cue addicts to check it out (about third page or so in the "other Cues" section.)
That is insane. I might ask for a measurement or two, and buy it and make something out of it :D .
That is just insane figure... I didn't know whether to salivate, defecate or urinate... I think i might have done a bit of each :D .

Thanks,

Jon

Just thought I'd post up a cue of mine with BE for comparo>>>

Here's one of my cues with some pretty nice BE. That Rubino cue is sweet though, makes mine look like a newbie on Freshman Friday!

Oh... that's nice...

I need to go hunting for BEM's again...

Thanks,

Jon

really nice figuring in that ironchef. It has a real unique figure to it. Almost a Maple Burl ;D.

Man, the top cue is absolutly stunning. That wood is phenomenal. Ironchef, yours is pretty damn awesome as well, not quite as many birds eyes but yours has more contrast and looks stunning as well.

A really nice piece of birdseye maple is my favorite wood. The points of my cue are made of birdseye but they dont have anywhere near that much figure, I seriously wish they did. I dont really think any other wood quite compares with those two examples, maybe some phenomenal burl example, maybe.

had one like that

i bought a les blevins cue and it had the same awesome BE figuring and yes biGhuK, it was a no pointer like the one your describing, with brown phenolic collars also 3/8x11 pin hits like a SW too tulip wood ivory ringwork and a short brown phenolic buttcap, white irish linen . i really regret not taking a pic of it. now its in the vault of a taiwanese friend(cue collector)who bought that cue from me for a price i cant refuse at that time and when i saw that rubino from day 1 at cueaddicts it just makes me regret more.:(
