Shipping Damage?

How was it packaged? Could this have occurred in shipping?

I've not been here in a long time, recently back.

One thing that bugs me here and in other forums I've been involved in are threads like this.

Your issue is unfortunate. But you should wait until you have had correspondence with the person you're doing business with before "pre-airing" your dirty laundry.

I can't say I blame you..... Just a little suggestion though, don't contact him yet and lose your cool. Just assume it was an accident or honest oversight for now. Give yourself a day to cool down, and then contact him so you'll be able to maintain your composure. Blowing up at the guy won't achieve anything except to make the scenario worse. If he doesn't handle the situation in a satisfactory manner after a civil discussion, then maybe you could get a little more pointed with the guy.

I am calm when I discuss things like this with the other party even as im mad. what bothers me is that its going to cost me shipping fees and even more time. Its the reason why I didn't name him, I don't want to ruin anyones reputation without giving them a chance.

Im venting, is that a problem for you?. seems no one missed you in your absence, bc of your dumb FKng comments.

You don't appear to have much online etiquette at all.

We could go back and forth all night long like this, except I won't likely respond anymore.

Vent to a neighbor, friend, wife. Write up facts when you have them. Right now this story is "dude wrecked my cue, can you believe this shit"... Whereas after you talk to him maybe the real story is "Wow, this dude is stand up. My cue showed up with a chip and he not only paid for the shipping he also fixed it, its fantastic".

This sort of post is NOT at all helpful for anyone, except it makes you feel better because you get to throw around the F-bomb.

Wow. The guy gives you a bit of reasonable advice, of which I doubt anyone on here would disagree with and this is the way you talk to him.

Have fun with your Venting. At one point, I felt for your situation. Now, I could give a Flying FK.

I must spread rep around before giving it to Blue Hog ridr again.

Same here, can't rep Blue Hog ridr again yet either. Add me in to the club that thought OP's response to reasonable feedback from buzzmc was way out of line. And also add me in to the club that didn't see the point of the thread before he had heard back from the guy either for that matter. What's the point when you don't know yet how it is going to be handled, but you will know very soon? If the guy comes through with flying colors then after the fact I can see a "what a great guy go so and so is with fantastic customer service" thread, or if he doesn't come through I could see a "horrible experience with so and so" thread, but right now I didn't personally see the point.

And honest mistakes happen. Maybe the cue guy did bump it and just didn't notice. Maybe he even saw it and thought it was just a piece of plastic stuck to the cue just like the OP thought ("it was still intact until I thought it was a piece of plastic or something and it fell off"), but the piece of plastic hadn't fallen off yet, or he just didn't bother to brush off the piece of plastic like the OP did, whichever the case.

If the OP feels like it was an intentional scam as he claimed why not just name his name? How the cue guy handles it after he got caught scamming and is confronted about is immaterial to whether he should be named. If he was truly attempting to scam you he should have been named. I have a suspicion that the OP also knows it could actually easily be something else other than intentional (even though he lambasted the guy with accusations of intentional scamming) and that is why he wasn't named. That makes the initial accusations even more out of line.

And finally, I highly doubt somebody who refinishes cues, and just refinished this one to brand new perfect condition finish, is going to send it back to you like this, and hope that you don't notice it. That sounds pretty dumb to me. What he would do if he did the damage and realized it is he would refinish it again as it is in his possession, and that is what he does. It sounds very probable that the cue guy never realized or noticed it, and there is even a slight possibility that it arrived back to him that way to begin with.

And to the OP. What was wrong with the first wrap job that it had to be redone, and what kind of wrap was it?

I feel for you........I once sent of a very expensive cue for same reasons you did and it came back with a huge chip by the joint.
Shipping package was in excellent shape, looked new, and the cue was inside bubble wrap, then tube, then the triangle box.
I told the guy about it and he completely ignored me.
Had to send it to another cue maker to have it repaired at a pretty dang high cost plus he was never able to fully match the stain.
I got so mad that even though I liked the cue I couldn't imagine playing another game with it.......lol so I sold it, took a hit on the two repair costs plus it now had an obvious repaired spot which the buyer used against me....of course.....
Anyway, sorry to hear your story.
Please keep us posted an if the guy ignores you let us know.

The OP never said a name, just came on here to vent about a pool cue
which makes sense to me being a pool site. If he came on here venting
about his socks would be a different story.
I would probably be super pissed myself and since my wife and kids
hate pool I'd have to vent here to:) Goodluck in resolving your issue.
Hopefully the cuemaker will work with you on this.

spoke to the guy, he offered to fix right away. Could have been usps checking the package or something unfortunatley no one knows, could have been the case i shipped it in i gonna rip it open now, just in case I dont want to ruin another cue.. I was pissed last nite bc I was excited and than you get that. whatever, im over it, sry for acting out.

it was a finish over wrap, it completley changed the feel of the cue. I spoke to the guy and he said he would fix right away, im over it, unfortunatley I was mad and needed to vent, I didnt have anyone around me to care at the time, so a pool website forum sounded like the right place. ur not immuned to getting mad, so not am i. sry for the stupid thread, whatever, its no big deal, theres 20 worst here daily, especially in the wanted sale forum. guy is a gentleman and he wanted no reason,he said I did the work, its my responsibility.

No problem if you want to vent your anger about your problem. But when you vent it at someone who has taken the time to make a reasonable suggestion, you only harm yourself.

After reading your original post, I felt like "Gee, I wish I could help this guy."

After reading your subsequent posts, I felt like, "I don't care what happens to this guy. He gets what he deserves."

OP....some words of advice before creating a thread

BTW cute avatar pic of the puppy

yeah, im a bit mercurial sometimes. it happens, sry for acting out to the guy, but hes response was directed towards AZBilliards in general, I was defending us not me. in retrospect I should have just waited until I was calm, but I have a sicilian temper. I was wrong, and again, Im sry.

Cues can be a very personal possession, Id be mortified if my beloved cue showed up with that kind of problem. temper happens, it's easy to forget that we are all actually people when typing on a keyboard. Glad he is taking care of it for you and good on ya for apologizing, don't see that often enough
