Un-identified Cue

Hi:

I was wondering if anybody here can help identify this cue. After a few hours looking at various cues on the web, the closest I can come to matching it are Viking cues(but not an exact match).

The ferrule and the diamonds are ivory. It has 6 points.

One of my buddies has a stick that looks close to that one, was made by huebler "several" years ago, just ask him he'll tell you how long ago.
Might try sending the pics to huebler, they could tell you if it is one of theirs.

I'll send it to Huebler and see what they have to say. I think I seen the stick you are talking about, the AS-H8 on the following page http://www.geocities.com/hueblercues/ . Although it is not the same it looks pretty close.

Anybody else have any suggestions?

Thanks for your replies.

beats me...but you might post pictures of the joint, of the shaft insert if any, of the points (are they sharp or rounded)...

Hello, the cue is not a Huebler. Huebler cues have cut Points not CNC inlay ed points. The Bumper also is not what Huebler uses either. The has a push in Bumper I can tell by the photo's. This tells me that the cue was made in Asia, it could be a Kaiser, or a Lucasi, or any other brand of Asian cues. It is not American Made though, unless it is a unmarked Joss.

They actually do have at least one cue where they use CNC points and that's the Ebony King. That being said, I don't think it's a Huebler either. Another thing that no one else has mentioned is that Huebler uses a 5/16x18 pin. If it doesn't have one of these and the linen insert it's more than likely not a Huebler.

Schon

I have seen that design before. To the best of my knowledge information and belief its a schon. Very very early!!! Has a broken butt plate that was replaced. Makes it very hard to identify. I hope this helps? Call schon they may help ID it for you.

Kid Dynomite:o ;) :D

Thanks to everyone for their replies.

Here are some pics of the joint, the shaft insert, and the points.

Definitely not a Huebler!

Viking

Turns out that stick was a high end Viking and extremely hot. The person who sold it to me just found out and let me know. He bought it back off of me and now it is going to go back to the original owner.

Apparently the butt was broken so they replaced it.

The stick is going back to its original owner now.

Hi there,

I still don't think it's a Viking. I think it's a Nova cue. You can tell by the unique shaft with the dymondwood insert. To the best of my knowledge, Viking never made such a shaft. I think you're right, the buttcap's been replaced somewhere along the line. A Nova will shoot circles around a Viking any day!

Regards,

Steve

Now that's why you sometimes need to see everything (including the shaft collars and insert) to be able to ID cues. I agree with Hunter.....most likely a Nova. My buddy use to be a dealer for Nubs and I've seen a few other cues with this same layout of points and inlays. Definitely not his butt cap or bumper, so it was probably broken and then replaced somewhere along the way. Besides the shaft inserts, the relatively short joint collars scream Nova.

Sean, and Steve are right,
It is a Nova, I am by far not an expert but I have several Nova's and I happen to have it's twin.
Just looks like the butt cap and bumper have been replaced.

I was only going by what I was told.

After Hunter said it was a Nova, I looked up a few and it seemed to be a better match.

Doogie: Do you know the model number of that cue?

Thanks to all for you help.

You are welcome, glad I could help.
I don't know the model number.
I have a friend that used to be a Nova dealer, he has a flyer that has several of Nub's Production (for lack of a better term) cues, and this one is on it. Next time I see him I will look and see if there are model numbers on the flyer. As far as I know there are no numbers on the cue itself.
