I just wanted everybody possible to see and enjoy this cue. I will tell you about the cue first and then who built it and his contact info. The cue weighs 19.4oz, 5/8" ivory ferrules, perfect shafts at 3.9oz and 3.8oz. The nose and butt is Monkey Pod. A very rare beautiful wood. Yes , Everything white is real Ivory. Infact, this Ivory came from a 30 year old piece of Elephant tusk. Stable and heavily grained. For a crisp hard hit the handle is one piece of Diamond wood that goes cored into the nose and butt sleeve. Everything white is Ivory. The slabes are full milled dead even and perfect. Infact the Ivory used for the points had to be over a 1/4" Thick. Very expensive, but done right!! Now... I have owned just about all the premier cues, Southwest, Dennis Searing, Mottey, Etc... My honest opinion of having a cue built this way with the Ivory points was going to make it more of a show piece and not real players cue. I don't know how he did it but it is quite they opposite. It hits like a stiff Brick Sh#@ house with almost do deflection and great balance and feel. The detail in the butt is also very nice. He put an Ivory insert up in there. The wrap is real Lizard and is perfect!! Unbelievable!!!! I am a Master player so I know a little bit about the quality a cue should hit like and this cue exceeded what I expected. The builder Is Scott Gracio out of the west coast. He can be reached at 509-953-1219. Guys, I know theres a lot of cue builders out there but he is defenitly a perfectionist and a premier builder. Call him, Prices are fair and quality is awesome!!:

Not trying to harass you (too much) but why the need to waste a chunk of ivory hidden up inside the butsleeve? Make it hit better? Ran out of light weight bolts? Looks cool if your stopper falls out? Spare ferrule in case you crack one? Just a bit curious.

That is one beautiful cue!!!. I like the ivory points without veneers. Very classy.

LOLOL! I get what your saying. It was a special thing done I guess to show workmanship and a clean through look to complete the cues flow if you will. I personally love it and I feel it ads class to the cue and quality. The attention to detail it shows me. It's a very thin piece so no real expense is there. I would assume it was partially done to keep the cue material wise all consistant. Even the collars on the shafts are Ivory and Monkey Pod rings. So???? I' don't know. :D

I guess its all in perspective. If Dennis Searing made that cue it would be probably worth 15K or so. So in that sense not even close. Great price and Perfect work!!!! :D

KV, that's an old school cuemaker trick to maximize your profit....you charge 'em by the inch! (Probably just an inside joke between me ang Gilbert that nobody here would get...sorry). It does finish out nice, though.

Hello All

I'm Scott Gracio of Gracio cues. Being new to AZ and reading this thread almost makes me afraid to show cues. This cue looks beautiful, the Monkey Pod is highly figured (no stains or coloring), preasure treated, and cored. The core and handle were turned from a 30" inch diamond wood dowel, no internal splices. I've used many types of wood that are considered unfavorable in cue building and this one piece design works great (different types of core wood work also). It seems like the more beautiful the wood the worse it plays the more work I have to do.
The Ivory in the butt was fun to install and I'm shocked this customer found it so quickly. There was no extra charge and the cost to me was minimal. I purchased 2 pounds of Ivory chips for $24.00. Larger pieces to build points, buttcaps, joints etc. are very expensive. Ivory shrinks and cracks, I'm picky when purchasing.
It's a beautiful cue that shoots amazing. I shoot with every cue before delivery. My cues play!!
Its nice to see my customer so happy.

Scott,
In addition to this cue I've seen pics of some of your other work (in-process and complete) and, to say the least, I'm intrigued.

Looking forward to seeing them "up close".

Regards, Adam

It's true!

I don't understand anything past the first sentance in your reply but I have to tell you this. This is where cuemakers come to grind their teeth.
Welcome to the forum:D !
Alot of bad form here. Alot of great AZers too!
You should have taken some pictures of that cue to show off at a later time. Like now.
Nick :)

That is one sick looking cue! Some cues are so pretty that they just don't look right to me. This cue looks almost perfect IMO. It's the type of "pretty" that I like.

Another example that a real lizard wrap makes a cue a masterpiece.
I like it very much, nice work.

Price was 1,800.00 I was in the pool hall Sat. and had a close call with disaster. Nothing happened but I decided to sell it. (1) I would love for other people to play and trade with the cue so Scotts work gets out there. (2) I really do not feel that comfortable playing with that cue where I play. I would like some trade offers or cash. I would be looking for a players cue. BEM Harris, BEM Zyler, BEM Southwest, Etc... Other woods are fine as well. :)
