Uni-Loc has died on my Predator Revo

So, I was literally just a few days ago replying to someone's message on here about how good my Uni-Loc seemed to be working (1 month old Revo). Of course tonight I'm playing, and I go to change shafts, and the joint won't unscrew. It appears that the female portion of the lock is coming out of the shaft. That sucker is so tight I can't even move it.

Anyone else had this happen?

I asked a friend of mine to break the joint apart on my predator SP after I finished playing but then I've got a touch of arthritis in my hands so I'm a wimp at times . It's not been a problem since for the last 6 months or so .
Maybe I should change my name to Wimpy in Montana ha ha

This one is literally coming apart. It's not that it's too tight - it's that the joint is messed up. It's a "quick release" Uni-Lock -- literally two turns and it pulls out.

I know what you mean about tightness, though -- my Cuetec Cynergy I have to be real careful with or it'll take two oxen to pull it apart :)

Please call and Return it to Predator.

Preventative maintenance.
Once a month, use a Q tip with alcohol on it and clean the brass insert. Check your joint screw for scratches from putting it together. It may need to be polished.
Simple steps.

For those choosing to use the uni loc quick release or any joint screw for that matter at the joint.
The Majority of joint screws being produced get put in a tumbler polisher. This process isn't good eneogh. Polish your own joint screws and inserts. It's very simple and takes no time at all.

Any thoughts on how to break it down?. I can't even budge the shaft.

Bang the joint on the butt of your hand and while it is still vibrating, unscrew the shaft.

It works, but I've seen posts by a cuemaker or two saying to not do that. I've done it many times when my uni-lock sticks with no damage.

Out of curiosity, what is the purpose of the Uni-loc joint? What problem did it solve?
Good point. How can you be in that big of a hurry? I remember when they first came out everyone had to have one. I hardly ever see one where i play anymore.
