Not sure what it is. Resembles a Justis but there's no visible markings to distinguish it. Case is about 8-9 years old. If you guys can offer any help identifying the case I'd appreciate it.

I'm looking to sell it for a fair price, or trade for a 2x4 case. I really love the Predator Sport 2x4 but I'm definitely open to other cases

Thanks for looking!

Just curious.... Just because someone makes a case that looks like a Justis case, makes it a knock off?

The reason I ask, is this. Many people make cues that look like other cues. Which is not really wrong unless they say its another cue right?

Why would it be a problem if someone made a case that is leather worked, in the same style as a Justis case, if they do not call it a Justis case?

I am not trying to stir things up, or make anyone mad, but in all fairness, free market competition is a good thing. Of course when you are competing with someone who may not even make 2 dollars an hour, that does make it hard to compete, if there product is anywhere close in quality to a case it is made to look like.

Which I doubt any chinese case would be...............

Thank you all for the feedback. While I'm disappointed that it's not a big name case, I'm glad to finally have a better idea of what it might be.

For what it's worth, whether it is a Chinese knock off or not, the case is almost a decade old and has held up well. No rips, tears, or issues otherwise. If anyone is interested in buying it, please make an offer. I don't know what it's worth but I'd still like to get rid of it for a 2x4, trades being an option.

Thanks again.

Just another Chinese knock off.

Of what? What brand or model does this case knock off?

While we are at it who made it? Was it your partners at Long Chan/Sharon who knocked off Instroke, Whitten, Porper, Cheddar Classics, Predator (by Instroke), and Murnak among others. Of course before you partnered up with them they had also made some embroidered vinyl cases that looked very much like your style, complete with lines and some sort of crest.

How about the Justis West cases? Are they just another Chinese knockoff? Or just "authorized" Chinese knockoffs.

If it's a Bentley then it's possibly not a Chinese made case. It is likely to be a Thai case as some Bentley cases were made in Thailand. (but they all look alike don't they?)

Regarding the last line I bolded above you should be aware that there are many world class leather crafters in China right now. I understand that you are saying that a copy could never match the original but I would disagree with that when it comes to cue cases. I feel that there are many cue cases made outside of China that the Chinese case makers and Chinese leather workers COULD make better versions of. Now, many of the existing case makers don't make better versions because they are always trying to cut costs OR they don't actually play pool so they don't really pay attention to how the cases hold and protect the cues.

My shop in China puts out cases though that I would be happy to put up in any quality comparison against any other case made anywhere.

To answer the rest of your post, no, a case that has some elements of another case maker's style is not a knockoff.

This case has some elements of Justis, some elements of Instroke, some elements of Jay Flowers and a little Porper tooled thrown in.

I'd call it a mashup instead of a knockoff. I think we need that as a new term to designate cases which take elements of other people's "style" and mix them all up to make their own style.

Bump for the OP, trying to get international disputes out of his thread.
I guess you could call it a "tribute" case and leave it at that! ;)
Good luck on your sale.

That's funny. So Jack, having no answer as to what brand of case it is only says it's a "cheap Chinese knockoff" and of course a few people have to ride that bandwagon.

But turns out Jack was wrong. It's a Thai mashup of several cases. Not a "tribute" and not a copy and if I remember right not all that "cheap" either.

And then to cap it off you jump in the thread after the question has already been answered, to chastise me I think for daring to challenge Jack's non-answer to the OP.

I guess every time Jack posts a case from here on out we can all say nice Jay Flower's tribute? Because that's about the same comparison is calling this one a Justis tribute or Justis knockoff. I mean if THIS case is a Justis knockoff then just about every Justis ever made is a Jay Flowers knockoff.
