Hello, yesterday ive bought one for my cue, and I got the first impression of a solid hit ok, but it actually gets hard (for me) to draw the cueball with it, when I put the low spin english to draw, with that shaft, it gets hard. is it only me? I used to play with Predator 314, and Z before. they draw better. the difference in the feeling for me is that the diameter of the Smart shaft is bigger, is this the problem? I mean if i adjust for a bigger diameter shaft will I be good and draw the ball just as good as I used to with my Z shaft?

I'm just asking this to know, if its by nature easier to draw a cueball with thinner shaft therefore Z will draw much better? or is it just me and I will adjust for a bigger diameter and draw just as good later on?

and please I also would like to read some comments, reviews, of that Shaft, Universal Smart. Mine called LSD, dunno what the heck that means, but I bought it yesterday and I'm trying to adjust to that new shaft.

Thanks.

The LS is the Low Squirt model. I have one but don't like it nearly as much as my RS (Regular Squirt) version. I have used it for about 2 years now and i just pray it holds up for years. It is by far the best playing shaft I have ever owned. Subjective I know but I love it.

When I switched from a production cue with a shaft that had a lot of deflection to a TAD shaft on one of my TAD cues, I had to change my stroke and playing style a little. I wasn't used to not having so little deflection or none at all. Keep up with it, you'll notice that you're more accurate without needing to adjust for as much deflection in each shot. Spin and draw will need to be adjusted by your stroke, you'll see once you start adjusting.

Thanks for your replies, just one question whats the exact differents between LS and RS? I have the LS one, i searched online havent found anything... is LS thick shaft, and RS thin shaft? like the 314 to Z in terms of thickness? thanks.

Asbani,

The Universal Smart Shaft was my invention.
You wanted to know the difference between the RS and the LS:

The LS has a shorter, lower mass and softer ferrule. It is 12.75MM
These features contribute to the low squirt.

The RS has a longer ferrule designed like a regular ivory ferrule. It is 13.00MM.
It has less squirt than most similar shafts because of the ferrule material.

Sincerely,

Bill Stroud

I have the 11.75mm Smartshaft (TX-8). Are you the inventor of this one also? It plays great and draws great also. I like it better than any low deflection shaft I have used. I also have one of the new OB classic shafts.
