Unknown "custom" cue: figuring out who made it & what it's worth?

Found a seller who has a "custom cue", but doesn't know who made it, or much info on it, really. Says he got it years ago from a seller who told him it was "50 to 100 years old, maybe older" (which I highly doubt LOL!) I'm not terribly interested in buying it, but it does have me curious as to who possibly made it (if that could be determined) and what it might be worth (which, I suspect, isn't much.) He sent me these pics, but I can't really tell anything about it. Any ideas?

This is a D-18 McDermott that apparently was a victim of anger. A little surgical cut and paste was done.

O.K...
Its a 20 year old D-18 cue, made by McDermott.
It has been broken in half, And Poorly repaired.
The seller is full if crap.
its worth what.. , Maybe $15.00? (if it comes with the case)
Does he sell used cars for a living, or is he just an amature cue flipper?

Jayman.

Exactly what I was looking for. :) The seller probably got taken and paid too much for it, doesn't know anything about it, and thought it was worth a lot more (he wanted $500 for it!) LOL

I gave him the bad news. :embarrassed2:

Don't waste your time with that seller.

An original D18 McD looks like this -

The seller is either dishonest or very uninformed, the cue is a D-18 which was produced from 1983 - 1990. The cue pictured was broken and repaired, in my opinion it is worthless, unless your cold and need to start a fire.

Take care

You can also stick it in the ground and tie a nice rose bush to it. (Seriously, I know a cue-maker who does just this with old cue people give him to repair that are junk.)
