Unlucky Pool Shot

No...not unlucky at all.....You can clearly see that he played right hand english on the 8-ball....Had he played just straight follow on the 8-ball it would have gone in the pocket.....;) :rolleyes:

I happen to believe that the bottom of the pocket on ANY table should be near the floor somewhere so that this can NEVER happen.

WOW back to back, that's unbelievable. The look on Efren's face was very strained.

In a bar league match I saw a shot go in one side pocket and jump straight up approx 3 inches above the slate out of the other side pocket. It went back down, but I could see the argument coming if it would have landed on the surface. :boring2: :boring2: ;)
 
It's very very rare but it happens. I once saw it happen on a side-pocket shot at no more than a medium speed stroke. I wish I could say I understand the precise elements involved but I don't. I've seen it happen on drop-pocket tables and on gully tables. I've seen it happen with firmly hit balls and medium hit balls.

I know I can get it to happen OCCASIONALLY when preforming this shot below. The cueball is supposed to hit the top of the pocket and bounce back on the table but once in a blue moon, it will go right in the pocket and climb back out. It's very strange to see. The difference here is that it's the cueball and I'm putting a TON of follow on it. It just blows my mind when I see it happen with an object ball that has little spin on it.

I had a league game where my opponent ran the table, ending with a 6" straight in 8 ball .... he hammered the ball and it bounced off the bottom of the pocket perhaps 12" up in the air (Valley table) ending up in the jaws of the pocket. He did not argue, just walked away. I cleaned up my set and carefully pocketed the 8. He had left his chalk on the rail, so he reached out with his cue and swiped it off the rail ... the chalk flew lengthwise over two snooker tables and exploded into a blue puff 8 feet up the end wall :eek:

That's one of the very few times I've beated the man, and in reality he beat himself that day.

For some reason, that happens on my table on occasion (on more than one pocket). However, in my case, the ball doesn't go all the way down in the pocket, but rather bounces off of the back of the back of the pocket and then back out onto the table. It's very frustrating. I really need to have a mechanic take a look at it.
