There are no official rules for the ghost. But in the case of the 9 ball ghost, I think you will find the majority that practice with the 9 ball ghost do take the 9 on the snap and combos/caroms on the 9. Maybe not the pros but I mean us mere mortals.

LOL. I really wanted the drink, but I wanted his money almost as bad. There was no booze of any type in NY back then and that's why I became a bar box player, I'm sure

Invariably, the salesman will point to his feet and I will say, "Sure, let me try a size 11." When they see I am serious about my tootsies, they always make sure I get a high quality insert to go with the shoes.(By then, they know I am easy). The inserts are important and add to the comfort of the shoe but I am starting to think that the inserts should be replaced every three months.
So far, this strategy has worked pretty good for me. My feet don't ache like they used to, FWIW.

Thanks for the shoe salesmen tip Joey...sounds good. Right now I'm looking into good inserts, as it's only the bottom of my feet that get sore. By this summer I'll be playing in bar box tournaments in Florida, I feel. I'll let you all know when the time comes. No more bar hustling for me. I don't trust myself around the booze and friends I use to party with in the bars, and probably never will. Johnnyt
