We get our second year kicked off next Monday. I am set with about 60 kids to start the year. This year I am teaching technology applications at my school so that means I have access to a smart board and will be able to show more videos and diagrams. I will also be able to use my computer lab to let kids read articles regarding any given topic I am teaching them. I will also be teaching a video productions class so I will have an opportunity to make a video or two about the program. I am really excited about this year and the prospects of turning out another crop of players.

very nice

I checked out your site by clicking on your AZ handle.

I think the pool school is an excellent endeavor and commend you for following through on your convictions.

-rep to you and best of luck!

Marcus...IIRC, didn't you get things rolling at several Houston area schools? Were you able to find anybody else to help you? You're doing a great job, and I am still planning to do some clinics with your kids when I can get to Houston. Hope the videos are helpful.

GREENIE to you for your work with those kids.

i live next door to your program and am very happy to here that things are going well...i hope those kids dont end up stealing my money in the local tournys:) mickey

I had my first class of the year today. I had 22 kids in one class. Its really hard to teach that many beginners at one time. Many of them had no idea what the cue ball was for.

Since I have been doing this class I have learned that many kids who are 6th through 8th grade do not have ideal hands for making a good bridge (closed or open). It has been interesting to see that even bigger kids have difficulty creating a proper bridge.

It is fun to see the ones who have some natural (intuitive) ability for the game.

Tomorrow I will have 2 more groups which will put my overall total closer to 70. After tomorrow about 46 more people will know what the white ball is called.
