Bump for an update.
call cops.
after reading all you have, you are ready to call the cops, make sure you tell your local PD where this person lives so they know who they will have to contact as well. dont mess around anymore, you gave him what i call is "out" and he did not take it. even if he no longer has this cue, he did make his admission to taking control of it (if even for a short time). not only will he be charged with theft, but he could also be charged with federal mail crimes, moving stolen property and others.
call the cops and stay in contact with them to make sure they are progressing in their investigation. any questions, feel free to ask anytime. Law enforcement student here

Well, he's hanging on to the fact that he didn't have to sign for this cue. Even though the USPS tracked it right to his door. He call me and told me he got it and how much he liked it. I asked him for tracking numbers which he claimed to be shipping UPS and he told me they were out in his truck and he'd go get them, in the meantime I got in the shower when he called back and told my wife, "this is Chris, I did a trade with Greg on AZ and I can't find the UPS tracking numbers, I think I may have washed them, I found a wad of paper in the lint trap of my dryer" LOL. From that point on, he hid like the theif that he is and wouldn't answer the phone. Still won't answer the phone and hasn't spoken to me since. However he has sent me numerous PM's on AZ threatening me with harrassment suit. And this is what an Honest guy gets for trusting a common criminal. He not only is right back up and running here on AZ, they pulled my negative Itrader, that put me in shock. Let's just pat the thief on the back, Oh I'm sure he's learned his lesson, LOL. What's the point in having feedback if a thief can just have it expunged???? Thanks for listening. Well, I'd call his Uncle back and see about sending him copies of the proof of delivery, etc. and see if the Uncle can talk with his dad and, have them talk some sense into himGood luck! :frown:
This is excellent advice. I find that appealing to family can provide massive leverage to getting paid or getting items back... especially if they still live at home lol. If you're lucky, you get to hear the *smack* on the phone

I've got a guess as to why, but its just a guess.
I know the mads were trying to emulate eBay when they installed the iTrader system. The difference is, eBay has a huge legal department and boilerplate guidelines for how the feedback system is regulated. AZ can't act that way and the mods often do what is easiest to protect themselves from the threat of lawsuits. I'm not saying that's wrong. In order fo AZ to support a huge legal staff, they'd have to also be a huge commercial site and I think we all prefer it the way it is.
Anyway, just guessing they were threatened and took the path of least resistance.

Very true. Signature conformation is only $2-3 more but, it gives you some sort of protection against a$$ holes like that guy.
Only as you say "some sort". The real risk in this deal was it was a trade, had it been a straight purchase, Greg could have taken steps to protect himself from loss.
In a trade, even with Signature Confirmation, the best you have is proof the guy received your end of the deal. He now says he sent his end but lost the proof of that and his end of the trade was lost in the mail. You now probably have a winner in court, but the point is you have to go to court to win. Going to court is more time and expense than the deal might be worth.

I was looking at cuefan86's profile and started researching some threads that this idiot has started on AzB.
I wonder if Ned Morris knows that this criminal has used his name to sell/trade cues here on this forum? Mr. Morris has nothing to do with this deal gone bad, nor am I inferring any wrongdoing on his part. I would think if he knew the situation with Chris Woods, he would be uncomfortable being associated with him in any way.
It looks like Mr. Morris has done some work for him (the theif) within the last 6 months. If someone on this forum knows Mr. Morris well enough to give him a friendly, RESPECTFUL heads up, this idiot might realize he can't run far in the billiards world.

that sort of coupled with the fact that the itrader system has no guarantees of relevance anyhow. I can go onto anyone's itrader and leave feedback if I wanted to, positive or negative. Its roughly as reliable as the reputation system.
I'll admit it is fishy though, had they reset his itrader to 0 in the process at least that would have seemed "fairer" in that it was a complete reset on him.
