Update on the Des Moines pool scene

Good bye my love....you will be missed!!.. Looks like I've got money to play Matt E. with now...:bash:

If you didn't notice....the wheels are still spinning and the front end is off the ground.....oh ya she was fast!!

Oh man, that is a sweet car  Sorry you had to let it go.

Ya, me too. It had an all custom 395ci small block chevy. It was pushing 700 horse power....it was a blast. I still have the engine. I sold it with no motor or tranny. I bought it when I was 17 and I'm 34 now..

Frost will be back posting here soon for sure.

Good to see Jeff Olney talking about playing some again. I'm sure Jody would be up for a game.

Tournament Tonight

Friendly reminder for all who can make it to the Nate Jones Memorial tournament tonight at Big Dogs. I hope we get a good showing.

Brucey - I can't play anyone crazy enough to sell a chevelle!

As an aside - I do have an 88
Monte SS that that engine and tranny would turn into the Mustang slayer I always thought it was... Partners??? "MORTISS" would be on steroids... LOL

Hey - that old lady was at least 65. And she played good!

I figured that action at Sambetti's would end quickly -- me missing every other shot got them all excited. That's why I left them to you.

It ran a low 10 second quarter mile, and for a street car, that's pretty respectable. It would eat mustang for breakfast and $hit out corvettes!

Loving that quote... Low 10's is VERY respectable. Kinda sounds like a Pinks Episode waiting to happen.

Betting and Racing, betting and Pool - sooner or later it just turns into betting...ROTFL

Where are my OB chains...

Nate Jones Memorial

I hope to see as many people as possible out for the memorial tonight! He was a great guy, as you all know. They called him "Nate the Great", and he will be missed by all who knew him.

Any more details on Jon and Scott?

I would guess playing at Big Dogs, are you gonna do it out front or in the back room? Setting up a special Valley with Simonis or a run of the mill table with Valley cloth?

Inquiring minds...

Update on Nathan Jones Memorial Tourney

I would just like to say that I am truly impressed with how the Des Moines pool community came together tonight for the family of Nate Jones. We had 74 players in the tourney!! You guys raised an incredible $2646.50 for the funeral fund!! This just shows what Nate meant to everyone here.

Nate's family would just like to thank everyone that came out in support!! We were all lucky to have known him!! Thanks again!

The funeral is Friday, at Hamilton's Funeral Home on the south side, at 11am.

It's always nice to see a good turnout like this especially for a good cause. We had a benefit for a good friend a while back who was in the hospital and got a great turnout, parlty because I posted it in the tournament forum which is one of the best places to get the word out.

I haven't heard anything from Jon lately. I'd like to get all the details worked out...date? bet? race? table?.......My suggestions are September 12th, 5k, 10-15 ahead, Valley or Diamond (I get to pick the Diamond!). All Jon has to do is sign on the .......................line!:D

I'd love to watch a 15 ahead.......with you two that could be a battle. You're gonna be playing on a diamond i know this much :) Can't wait, hope you both get it set up soon so some others can plan accordingly.

It was a good turnout last night. A good sized tournament for sure.

Love to hear the details on Jon v Scott. I'm an organizer.(Meaning, I like all my details worked out way in advance)
