Update on the Des Moines pool scene

Mark Smith quit. I will say he was one of the best team mates you could find. He has an APA team that is also on the hunt for a Masters spot. He drove Paul there. Played each and every time someone wanted to sit out. Really cared about the team. Then last week....

That's probably as much as I care to elaborate on that.

Since I wasn't there last week I didn't see/hear what happened. Did he get in an argument with someone?

I have to give props to Jimmy for dumping some water on someone we all know:) That is some funny shit!!! I heard he went crying to Randy about it afterwards too. Jimmy shouldn't have gotten kicked out of Big Dog's for that! He spends more money in Big Dog's than that other guy would in a year. Atta boy Jimmy:)

Yeah Jimmy does spend a ton of money, however that's not good behavior for an adult. Especially unprovoked, word is they didn't even speak to each other all night before that. Jimmy is usually a nice guy, they had a lot to drink over at Stix West, I think he just made a bad call. Jimmy is usually pretty stand up so while I wouldnt hold my breath I wouldnt be shocked if Jimmy admitted he was on the wrong in this instance.

I will say one thing about Rumplemintze, it should be illegal. It's too strong, dont taste like alcohol, and way too easy to have too much of.

@JB, no need for the cheap shots and glorifying something like that. That would be like hyping up and praising what happened to you and Sam that night. Both situations were pretty damn uncalled for IMO. I feel like you were provoked lately and I didn't have any issue with what you were saying with Pet. The world's not against you man, turn the corner and instead of kicking someone while they are down, offer a hand to help them up.

Dont you realize no one likes u Jon! It shouldnt matter how much you spend at a place mmmmmm... let me see I'll have someone pour some water on you. Besides he did the right move by goin to Randy instead starting a fight, It takes a bigger man to walk away from a fight, its wat you said its about class but i guess u only said that to talk shit.

Snow

Since we have 15" of snow, travel suspended to most of the county, city and state and severe blizzard warning for most of the next six months... No one is susposed to leave their houses.

IS the Big Dog Open??:joyful:

It's nice to know that we can go to our favorite pool hall, threaten to go outside and fight someone, completely unprovoked, and continue to get served just because we spend a lot of money there.

I was just thinking the same thing! It has been a long time since I've been in a good old fashioned bar fight...... and i'm getting an itch. How bout it Mike? We can go up there tonight(all of the drinks are on me), and we can just punch random people walking by....? :smash:

Ya know, they should take the sign down that says anyone fighting will get banned, and just list a minimum bar tab required to fight. :grin-devilish:

ROTFLMFAO! Too funny.

I'm sure running an establishment where people recreate is a balance between rules and money. I just wonder if people will always choose money....

Bet against anyone who owns a shovel but not a slow blower.

Their stroking arm will be out of whack for a few days, imho.

That was a good one, I had to laugh at that. The job must have drove you insane last night.

I'm not sure what I did to Pet for him to act the way he is towards me. And if people don't like me, that's up to them. There is a big difference between what happened to us and what happened to Athens. Mike has had it out for Jimmy and myself for a long time. I like Jimmy, and think he is a good guy. I had hoped that he would quit drinking, but that is up to him. From what I heard, Jimmy was just tryin to set up some action, and Mike treated him like sh!t? I wasn't there though, so I can't say for sure. When I posted what I did, I was goin off of what someone said happened.

When I worked at Big Dog's, I had no problem kicking someone out for starting fights in there. Now that I am not there, it would seem the rules have changed. I know they let everyone that I had kicked out back in, because they spend some money in there. That's how you lose regulars, that spend ten times as much. I think this policy will be their downfall.

So, does anyone know if Dogs is open tonight? I need to hit a few balls before that benefit tournament this weekend...

So, are there any Jewetts who play pool in Des Moines? You may have noticed the name around town. Those are my great grandfather's relatives.
