Update on the Des Moines pool scene

I agree man! I don't believe someone should get banned for speaking their mind! It is an open forum, and if people don't like what someone is saying maybe they shouldn't read it then!! Pretty simple really. I believe we still have a right to free speech don't we? Maybe not...

He got banned for not cock riding what people were saying. He got banned for telling people that while scheduling match times is nice if you do it in a pool room versus a convention center you are actually taking money out of the pool room. I liked his posts and it pisses me off he got banned. He threw in some names every now and then and since calling someone ignorant or an idiot is good enough to get banned it makes me wonder when's the last time these guys have been to a pool room.

So now it seems in AZ land that you can't call people out on BS or have a difference of opinion. You have to word things gently and bite your tongue. There's a difference in harrassment and having an opinion and/or issuing a challenge. This shit's getting a bit too political and depending on who you are the rules are different.

That is unbelievable! How could he get banned for that? I agree, these guys must never step into a pool room ever. Calling people out on their BS is what goes on everyday in a room! We might say someone is a nit, a whiner, stupid, or call them a loser, but it's only because they are...we aren't making it up! I won't be afraid to speak my mind to anyone! I don't think anyone that posts on AZ should have to bite their tongue or have to hold back in any way when posting!!

Exactly that's brutal isn't it. We all probably should be banned by now if he is for that nonsense.

There is no way that the moderators are even pool players, after reading how he got banned!! That is just not right!

And you mentioned harassment earlier...there is a big difference between what I got warned for and harassment! How can you harass someone on a public forum when they can ignore you if the choose to? How is it harassment if over 3/4 of the people reading the two threads agreed? I don't regret anything I said. I did say one thing that might have been too much for the thread, but I edited it.

You guys are being stupid. It's the mod's job to keep it somewhat civil around here. Can you imagine what all of us low life, deadbeats would turn this forum into without some policing. And there is people worse then us on this site.

Quit busting his balls for doing what he wants to on HIS site.

Can't wait to try to repeat as Midwest Masters Champions this week in Lincoln. Last year we had a couple different players, but i think we'll be ok. Don't think alot of people from DSM are going, but i wish you all luck.

Right now, you'd be wise to acknowledge that YOU are the one I am watching and am addressing.

We haven't had any issues before, but I am becoming more concerned with your comabtive tone by the second.

As stated, if you wish to continue being a member of this community, change the direction you have been headed and follow the rules.

My patience is wearing thin and I want you to have every opportunity to stop while it is your choice.

on another note: Any more headway on the Des Moines bid for ISPA?

I also see Grady is going to be in AZ playing some one pocket -- that'd be great to watch... in person. I don't know if I could stay awake watching one pocket. Would rather play over watch anyday.

Even though it is a recipe for disaster playing doubles with your significant other as proven over and over again, Kristen and I are playing scotch doubles this Saturday for the APA gig. Our team name which I came up with being a poker and pool player is 7 3 Suited because "It is a bad combination, but at the right moment can be deadly to the competition"....or something like that.
 
I'm not trying to egg the situation on, I am being selfish in a way because I thought The Machine was definitely coming up with valid reasoning behind his arguments. All this pipe dream selling mixed in with talking down to other people may be legitimate grounds for questioning someone sometimes.

End of the day I can careless, I am trying to pump up a tournament thread that no one is even looking at. I almost feel like it is better to have drama going and in between posts pump up the tourney so people guarantee read it. Or should you just spam everyones thread like the Rivercity crew did for their tourney in Peoria.

I can't wait either!! Should be fun. I won't be near a computer for four days, so that will be nice. Good luck to everyone going from Des Moines!! I think Fernando has a team, but not sure if anyone else is going.
