Update on the Des Moines pool scene

I suppose a joke, for a guy who just lost a grand, isn't very funny. Maybe you shouldn't have bet then? You started all this crap, and now I'm the bad guy? OK.

My game is what it is. I'm a league player nowadays...that's all. I never pretend to be some big-time player. I play this game for me with as much integrity as I can muster. Whatever opinion others have of me, I cannot control.

Jeff Livingston

EDIT: one other thing....I really appreciate someone who can generate this kind of action....you should be ein the marketing business.

If it was a joke, sorry for flying off on you. I'm just an angry man right now.

My 2 cents...as for the action behind your back I can personally vouch that Jason and Pet are not doing anything like that. I grew up with Jason who helped bring me into pool, and have known Pet for years and won BCA state with him on a team. I only saw the last two hours of the match and there were no intentional dogged shots between either parties. As for some of the comments on here I think it's pretty shady but typical. So what if Mikey barks, so what if he makes a comment saying this person will beat that person or they don't have a chance at this or that game. You can't tell me action hasn't been fun to watch or be a part of in the last couple of weeks? Honestly Mikey has the balls to roll that cash and gamble and that is more then I can say for any of the big hitters that I see at dogs. You see anyone else playing for 1K or $500 sets?? Do you see anyone besides Chance have that kind of money to roll consistently 3-4 times a week? Chin up Mikey, you have been on a horrible losing streak, but judging from our brief texts yesterday you knew you were going to lose in your gut and still "did it out of pride because people are yappin". People will always yap and you need to rise above no matter how hard it may be.

Yes I had a bad feeling about the game. I usually go with my gut. I make a lot of money going with my instincts. I didn't do that in this case and I think that's partially why I am feeling like I do. I saw a lot of firsts yesterday so regardless of what is said, that won't ever look right to me. Sorry it just doesnt, but I quit so it's irrelavent now. I'll try plan b in a little while and thats a lock.

Oh, and I do loves me some plan "B."

Hell, with plan "A," sometimes I just skip it and go to "B."

Mike Frost or Mike Farley, although I just met you, if your wondering about your back in Des Moines, quit puking and get some sleep. The players you backed namely Mike and Jodi are stand up guys who want to win more than anybody, and Pet has more heart than anyone in Big Dogs! I'm sure they gave 100% and would play better the next time they were put in the box. Jodi and Mike A. do a great job of promoting pool in the area and have done so long before Big Dog came to town. With Fenton out of town Jodi and Mike are the top players in town, if you don't think so try to win a Sunday 9 ball tournament, these two players will be in the way! Maybe during the SVB and Scott Frost event Jodi, Mike, and Jason Chance or anyone else in town could have a playoff for the top shooter in DM. Make the format box 8ball, box 9 ball, and big table 9ball winner take all with a top DM shooter trophy displayed in Big Dogs. In this format there will be a winner you can't quit even or split, only one BIG DOG!

As for all the team talk it sounds like your getting into the age old debate that my dad is tougher than your dad. The team event is a great idea but the idea was to have DM ties. Well it sounds like the Frost buzz is put to sleep until his backside quits stinging. Also as I have said in the past "you don't need a spot Richardson, you play too good!" Nice shooting.

I never once questioned Mike A. or Jody in the slightest bit. Not once. I was there for those and I saw the involuntary actions that go along with getting beat. Mike tried all the moves(check the rack, go to the bathroom, take a bunch of timeouts, get a ref for obvious good hits etc.) All the things a good player does to try to turn the momentum around Mike definitely tried them. I also know exactly how he felt afterwards and could see it in his eyes. That was legitimate.

Jody while he was playing(he's more mild mannered mind you) kept trying to put something together regardless of where the coin was. I had a chance to get out of that set early and Jody pulled me aside and basically said things with that frustrated rosie red face he gets when he is losing that let me know he was going to dig down as deep as he could. He actually had a 4 game swing after that, Jamie just proved to be too tough on that day. I said it before and I'll say it again I would back Mike and Jody again in a New York minute. They both played well under the pressure, only difference is Jamie played better. Those sets were more of a credit to Jamies game and his focus during the matches, I dont think anyone in town would have been able to beat Jamie on those days...he ran Josh Johnson out of the building the next night too. Please compare apples to apples please.

As for Pet's match complete opposite. I watch him miscue 3 or 4 times. I try to talk to him and it throws his game off some how? Don't get that especially when it was between racks. I try to get him to talk for a second about the game and he doesnt wanna hear it while we are outside. Try to help him figure out the break, but no way does he want advice from me and I break as well as anyone who comes in that pool room. How many 7 balls did he miss yesterday? I counted 5. You know what the whole time he's laughing and giggling it up while flushing my dough down the drain. Jason did make some good jumps I was impressed myself but come on if you are down 6 is that the time to turn to your opponent and say "Oh you must have been watching me jump hahahahaha" No I think you should be in bear down mode and setting the tone it's serious. It never had a serious tone yesterday, it was a 3 ring circus minus the good peanuts. If the pressure was too much he didn't have to play the same way as I didnt have to bet. I really didnt have much to do with the game. It all started out of a bark fest between Jamie and Pet. Pet turns it to Jason and basically tries to downgrade Jasons game(lack of opponent respect will get you busted) and say he can get the 5. Little more woof later next thing I know Pet is coming to me as a friend asking me to believe in him, saying I doubt him and have no confidence in him, saying he needs to win a crazy game like this to turn the streak around and get the ball rolling in our direction etc. So when I say no it's a bad game then now I'm the friend who doesnt believe in another friend and doesnt show support. All that good stuff. I bet as a friend yesterday so I'm hurt the way a friend would be. I've lost more in a day at Caesars Palace then I have this week so thats not an issue. Fact is when I stop betting as a smart gambler and make financial decisions as a friend is when I lose my edge and need to stop for a while. Yesterday was a disgusting match. They were shooting 2-3 times a piece on the majority of racks. Pet doesn't shoot that kind of pool and he'll probably never shoot that way again but you know what on my dime that wasnt a very strong effort. It was everything I wished it wasn't and yet another nail in the coffin. We will be back though for sure, just dont mark your calendars down.

Oh and lastly Mark I just met you myself as well. You know those guys so please keep your comments directed towards them. You might wanna thank me before you start to ridicule me. It was stone dead when I got here. Sure people had money but they wouldnt bet it. I had to create that picture though. As a business owner the customer should be right even if you dont like it so much. It's hard to call Big Dogs a home pool room when you have folks who manage the place and own the place act like they dont care is people come one way or the other. You should learn to appreciate your customers more, and maybe business will grow a little more. Alienating guys like me can only hurt your business in the long run. Read the whole thread I get the credit for bringing action back to town. You dont have to kiss my ass or talk about my ass anymore but you do need to show some mutual respect. Randy knows I'm not so bad, just looked shady yesterday and I'm licking my wounds the way I know how.

That's a book for you Big Dog.

And if that doesn't work, try plan C. I've done some research on plan C's, and 99.625% of the time it works and works well!

Big Dog has to be Jon Brown imho.

And you're not a quitter so stop it already, lol. You just let some people over state their ability and it cost you money. You are 100% right that you should not bet with your heart.

And as for this you getting chopped up thing seriously drop it. You and everyone who knows me knows its not possible and i'd dare anyone who thinks otherwise to say it to my face. --- DOUBLE DOG DARE

All of you guys have gotten all worked up over this "new guy" barking and wanting to bet it up. Frost was "raised" on the "Carolina Style" of making action when it isn't even there. From Fayetteville to Raleigh, to Greensboro, to Asheville, to Charlotte and all of the surrounding areas his actions are normal. NORMAL HERE. I am not where you are, or could even find it without Google, but all this hype is what we deal with three times a week. Might not be a g, but two, three, five hundred type stuff is pretty common around the Carolinas. Worst thing is, every swinging di#4 around here can run out. It didn't used to be that way, but it is now. I'm not exaggerating when I say that there are probably a hundred people within a two hour radius of here that only your best will beat. It sucks. The easy stuff is dried up. But... stakehorses and guys with money still slam heads. Just in the last year, I've seen Multiple times of five digit scores just here in Raleigh. And I don't know how many four digit scores. Weekly? Anyway, it's what he's accustomed to. Woof, back down, step up, whatever. It adds excitement. It promotes action. It promotes pool. Woof on, bro. Take a week, collect thoughts, and plot plan B.

This is funny to me.

I said it before and I'll say it again I would back Mike and Jody again in a New York minute

Thats what i said about Tom M coming to town. He said he will match up with athens or jody either one. Jason C will be out of town, so hes a no go.
