Update on the Des Moines pool scene

Big Dog has to be Jon Brown imho.

And you're not a quitter so stop it already, lol. You just let some people over state their ability and it cost you money. You are 100% right that you should not bet with your heart.

And as for this you getting chopped up thing seriously drop it. You and everyone who knows me knows its not possible and i'd dare anyone who thinks otherwise to say it to my face. --- DOUBLE DOG DARE

I have a pretty good memory and I missed the first hour and 45 mins of the match but got frequent texts on what was happening. Just answer a couple questions for me. How well do you think you played yesterday? Is that anywhere near your top speed(please be honest, cuz I've seen you shoot pretty sporty)? How many times did your opponent scratch on break/during the games? How many times did you have ball in hand on the 6 or the ball or two before that? How many times if you didnt get the 6 were you left with 2 or 3 ball outs?

After answering those honestly in your wildest dreams did you ever imagine the answer to those questions would be that high? Look at it from my perspective now, I've been here two months you guys have been friends for 10 years. You probably shot 50-60% of your ability and won easily. Maybe the game is just out of line but dont think thats the case and I doubt you do either. I've seen your opponent in quite a bit of action over the last month and never seen that type of effort. It looks like I am slamming him but the facts are the facts. I lost money on this so I have a right to state what I saw happen. If you were me, and be honest, what would you be thinking?

If I woulda saw you running multiple tables and just leaving him in jail the whole match this thread would be 4 pages shorter. You and I know yesterday's play was not what a match between guys of your caliber is supposed to look like. It was too goofy. Put yourself in my shoes.

Woof, back down, step up, whatever. It adds excitement. It promotes action. It promotes pool. Woof on, bro. Take a week, collect thoughts, and plot plan B.

Yes mike has def been good for pool around here. And some people like me appreciate it alot. Which is why i am upset he thinks i cheated him or something. I just got myself into a really good game.

FROST just think about all the talk before we even started, do you think we would go through all that if it was a shady game....

THINK man think about it. Im gonna call you around lunch and chat.

all of you guys have gotten all worked up over this "new guy" barking and wanting to bet it up. Frost was "raised" on the "carolina style" of making action when it isn't even there. From fayetteville to raleigh, to greensboro, to asheville, to charlotte and all of the surrounding areas his actions are normal. Normal here. I am not where you are, or could even find it without google, but all this hype is what we deal with three times a week. Might not be a g, but two, three, five hundred type stuff is pretty common around the carolinas. Worst thing is, every swinging di#4 around here can run out. It didn't used to be that way, but it is now. I'm not exaggerating when i say that there are probably a hundred people within a two hour radius of here that only your best will beat. It sucks. The easy stuff is dried up. But... Stakehorses and guys with money still slam heads. Just in the last year, i've seen multiple times of five digit scores just here in raleigh. And i don't know how many four digit scores. Weekly? Anyway, it's what he's accustomed to. Woof, back down, step up, whatever. It adds excitement. It promotes action. It promotes pool. Woof on, bro. Take a week, collect thoughts, and plot plan b.

I don't know you from Adam, but just ask Cooney how long he's spent laying down the act, and then milking it dry. I've been privy to quite a few Oscar winners right here in my hometown. So, it's not out of the question to think someone would spend two weeks to make a few g's.

That stuff was totally legit. I'm more mad at myself than anyone else. I just have to vent some. When you dont follow your gut it makes things 10x worse.

This is funny to me.

Thats what i said about Tom M coming to town. He said he will match up with athens or jody either one. Jason C will be out of town, so hes a no go.

Tom and I talk almost daily, he had to hear it last night from me too...first question he had..."Are you sure there's not business goin on behind your back?" I told him no because I don't want him to think this place is shady. I am starting to believe things are straight up. I just dont wanna bet more right now to find out. After watching Josh Johnson lose in 2.5 hours a 10 ahead set my radar went up big time. He's too good to lose that quick. That started the wheels turning, so now I might just be paranoid and my mind is playin tricks on me.

I would say i played 85%(my break was 110%) But the spot is big enough to to compensate. I thank you for the way you rate my game. Its simply not true though. Athens gave me the last 4 and beat me :(

Pet miscued 3 times and his break was terrible. He sratched on two 5 balls one of which neither one of us would have seen. He also scratched on one 6 ball. We each missed one 9 ball. We both struggled and im sure after watching Athens/Jamie/Jody play last week it was pathetic to watch. Hell Danny Bennett watched for an hour and left, im sure he was like wtf this sucks.

I grew tobacco in the mountains of Western NC, too. I can now read and write. Somewhat, anyway. Doesn't mean a few guys can't be theatre majors. Gotta look out for the hometowner. He gets, shall we say, "worked up." Not a bad thing, just a thing.

LOL worked up puts it mildly, I haven't gotten angry yet. That could change in two shakes of a lambs tail though. I won Round 1. They won Round 2. When I do get back at it, I'm goin for a 3rd round KO and puttin all this to bed.

Plan B. Already in the works, huh?

Hmmm..that's what I'm hearing anyway. While plan b is in the works, plan c might do some damage. I know some focused people right now. Even better people still dont know exactly how connected I am. It's OK we'll never tell. Did you talk to the bald guy yet that owes me one?

Man, next time i'm visiting the Carolina's, I gotta look this "Carolina Style" woofing up. I probably wouldn't ever leave. I do admit, along with Jason, that this is getting me interested in pool for the summer and a nice infusion of excitement is good for my practicing and playing.

Craw -- How many acres?

Seeing two good/great players get down is good for the scene. And with Mikey around, they have actually gone off, not just talked about. Gotta applaud that.

Eh, im done woofing at you on AZ for atleast an hour.

Looks like you have approximately 45 minutes left. I shouldnt be on this site right now, but I'm still livid. You never fully answered my other post either. Running through those questions would help u understand where Im coming from.

Just imagine Jamie without the personal insults times 100.

There is nothing i can say to make you feel differantly, so whats the point?

Pet and i dont run multiple racks, we make mistakes. We are not considered the top players in town. If i were you i would be pissed you let your horse get into a game you thought was out of line and your boys told you was out of line. These things happen in pool and gambling and i would think with all the talk about high action you've been around you could take a hit.

I lost $1000 betting on Jamie against Phil did you hear me pissing and moaning about it ? I told phil good shooting and shook your hand.

OK let me break down this so I can put it to bed. I hope this comes together and sounds logical. It probably won't but let me give you some insight and I probably shouldn't say some of this but I'm going to anyway but I'll be vague in certain spots.

For whatever reasons(there are plenty) Pet wanted me to stake him against you for the full amount and in return Pet did not want a dime of the money in the event of a win. OK so Pet is totally playing for free. You be the judge?

Next after you guys agree on Table 19 by way of coin flip, I tell you I'm gonna pull up if you guys don't change tables. I ask him to get you to play on Table 29 because the night before we practiced on Table 29 and Pet shot lights out, so I know he was comfortable with the equipment. He broke well and ran out from everywhere the night before. Now how you end up agreeing to play on Table 29 I don't know the full details, I do know you didn't want to but changed your mind somehow. So far two things are off.

Even better I argue with you about the 6 being wild on break(it should be, but I'm trying to take every advantage I can away since I'm betting) and you counter with you'll break from the same side 6 ball is placed on in other words making it impossible to make cross side. You basically took the wild 6 advantage away before the game even started, I thought I liked that but it was too easy to get you to do so now we have three things off about this game and the first ball isnt even hit.

To really screw you I make Pet get you to agree on placing the 7 and 8 balls on the wings of the rack. So when you break you are likely to make the 7 or 8 which plays against your spot. You should have been trying to put the 2 and 3 balls on the wing to increase your spot especially in rack your own. Now when you agreed to this coupled with you breaking from the same side as the 6 your spot is severely cut. I might say the game you were playing was much closer to the call 7 and no where near a true wild 6 game. You agreed once again in record time, that makes 4 things off about this game before a ball is hit.

I already chronicled the ball in hands, miscues, and hung balls that were good for a minimum 7-8 game swing. I'm up to 5 things that were a little too weird for my comfort.

The next thing that was quite odd, is that most ahead sets kind of go back and forth. Pet would get you from down 5 to up 3 without winning a game and vice versa. It was almost like you guys were winning 3-5 games at a time before the other would win, not very common. That's 6 things.

Maybe it's all a coincidence, maybe I'm dissecting it too much. Maybe theres a good explanation for you being so agreeable to so many pre game curve balls. You should have gotten pure hustled yesterday instead I'm sick. Maybe I got hustled. If someone who knows the game could tell me how my guy, who should be an 80% lock to win giving the call 7 gets dusted and dismissed that easily I would love to know. My old lady even says you know you aint been here long at all they dont care about you. She thinks I got business done, I'm feeling like it was all too sketchy. I can't make this stuff up, this actually all happened.

If you know the game, without knowing the players, you know how it sounds. I know you Jason and Pet have great reps and probably have never done anything like that to anyone. Hell I have no proof but i have a nagging feeling in my gut that something was just off. I didn't go with my gut before but I learned a valuable lesson from it. Like I said before you read this and put yourself in my shoes and tell me what it looks like from the outside in. You played OK, but not good enough to carry that spot against Pet on a normal day and I think you know that. Maybe a true wild 6 you played good enough to win. But a reduced game where you got everything stacked against you and you still came out on top fairly easily. Leaves me with more questions than answers unfortunately. I think after you read this you might at least be able to see what I'm saying a little more clearly.

Eight acres. Sucks. I don't wish it on anyone. Me, with asthma, on the third tier? Hated baling it also. Man, thank the good Lord for college.

I am a little frustrated too. Many people I never seen bet before were falling down looking for a sweat bet on the opposite side of me. I am not going to go out and say business was done because I have known you guys too long and dont think either of you would do that. I respect both of you and have known you forever.

But that leaves only one logical conclusion and one I dont like to hear after all the time I have invested..........

I am horrible at making games, dont know how anyone plays and should just quit pool forever. Since I was off this much on this match, it will save me thousands if I just give up now.
