Update on the Des Moines pool scene

Soo my boss strolls in my office about 15 mins ago and gives me this long lecture. Mostly revolves around expectations of the department. He's normally an ass, but I am the only black person in the entire engineering department so I felt like maybe his dog dies this weekend and he wanted to complain. At the end of his lecture he says I need to come over to his office to sign that I received the verbal counsel. So I'm a little mad and it's early in the morning.

Anyway stroll over there and see his boss, Director of Engineering, also in the office with this serious but smug face on. Director says things aren't going quite as expected Mike. I was worried I won't lie, but then he starts laughing and so does my boss. Turns out I GOT PROMOTED!!! Pretty happy about it and it wasn't chump change it was a 15% increase and my level increasing also nets me a better bonus in February.

Family then work then my personal life then pool/gambling related activity have been my priorities and looks like work just earned a bigger slice of the pie.

I am the only black person in the entire department. However my caucasian counterparts have families or are close to retirement. The fact is they come in at 7:30 and leave at 4:00. Everyday, like robots. They don't work from home like I do, kind of like I am doing as I type this to take a quick break. They don't travel near as much as I do to get the job done right. My projects come in ahead of schedule and under budget. I by far submit the most complete operating manuals and project documentation.

I am not good at my career, I am great at it. Not to mention a pretty great educational background. EIT certified waiting to take my PE exam. So if you think I only got a bump because I am a Non White...you simply are an idiot. I am still underpaid IMO, I think I'm a half million per year employee.

Nevermind stay in the dark and be a hater...i got a full time job for you if you wanna make a career out of being a hater.

Hey Jason, did we really beat you guys 21-2? I put something pretty bad on Chad...anyway I was busy today and I had interviews all day. Never ever ever get on a hiring team if you can help it, I honestly recommended 4 out of 5 guys for hire and there are only 2 positions. 2 well qualified candidates won't get this job and it's a shame because they would make our department so much stronger.
 
I suppose its possible. I played like s**** against Wes, couldn't make a single shot, and he made me pay for it lol. I finally got a little warm and I ended up going hill/hill with winter my second match, but I don't think either of us would say we played our best. I don't make it to the hill very often at masters so even for a loss I'm still kinda pleased. I will definitely show up earlier next time to warm up though.

I heard you beat Chad pretty bad. He wasn't in a very good mood to start with, and I'm sure that didn't help at all.

Ha ha, not hardly. I guess that was my best (albeit bad) impression of John McCain when he's pissed. I thought maybe the guy was a friend of Frost and just giving him a little poke. Based on Frost's reply, it's evident this is not the case. As Frost correctly said, the guy is just a hater.

We played Rex's team, so Gary, Rex, Rod, Carlos, and Wicki put it on us bad! Only round that we won, we shot a 50. However Pet, Athens, Mark, and I combined for a whopping 98 balls total. Neo shot a 35 because he is the best of all time. They shot good, we made some early 8's and didn't play well enough to win many racks. The ones we lost though were pretty bad. They kicked our ass.

The two Dang teams had a bad night! We beat DANG 5-0.

Then Mikey H. and Troy H. put it on Geoff and I! :crying: Even though all the sets we lost were hill hill except one that was 5-3, we were outmatched last night. They shot extremely well.

Theo and Brian were the entertainment last night!
