Update on the Des Moines pool scene

I guess there's no interest in a tournament for the weekend. Somebody could make a few hundred bucks, probably promote some action, and shoot the crap for my B-Day.

Not like it takes a lot to organize one. Entry Fee and pick a game, vote on questionable handicaps like always and get to hitting them. Let's go guys.
 
Just a heads up forthe Des Moines Pool Scene. In case you had not heard, Earl Strickland and John Schmidt will be at Big Dogs doing a pool school on Thursday January 14th from 4-8. the 4 hr school is only $200.00. Then on Friday the 15th they willbe doing a fun exhibition also in the back room at 7.30 at Big Dogs. If you wouldliketo signup forthe school please email me at markc@playCSIpool.com or callme withquestions at 480-612-7732. Thanks. I justcan't wait to get out of this sunny 72 degree weather and get to the minus 15 or so :) By the way we need a jacket sponsor so if anyone has a connection or hook up with the people at North Face clothing please letme know,thanks,

I'll see you all on Thursday, Mark....I look forward to more of Earl---and John is so excellent at 14.1, I can hardly wait to learn a few techniques and ideas from him. I try to invest at least $500 a year in my education...ya hoo...only the second week of the year and I'm almost halfway there!:smile:

Hey jeff, Yeah if we have a few 14.1 players I will make sure that you are in the same group. so you can really pick Schmidt's brain on that stuff.

Lol....ME a straight pool player...lol.

I try to play it...alone anyway. My best run was against Jerome Anderson last year....I got a 30 before missing. That's what?...one tenth of John's best run? lol

Put me in that group is you want...I need all the help I can get.

HeyJeff, We look forward to it and if we can get a few 14.1 players in there I will make sure that you are in the same group and that way you can have as much 14.1 stuff as u like with John.

Actually jeff just the other day I was personally on to beat Mosconi's record but I missed the 10th ball and blew itbut i was on target through the 1st nine balls.
 
I can still pull something together for Saturday with a little more feedback. If not I won't even waste the effort and just hang out with the woman.

You can do that anytime! hangin w/ dudes after drinks and billiards is way more fun! Just not as arousing!!!!!

I agree I'd much rather have a little tourney/get together thing. Do a little $20 sidepot for the winner andhave a fun night for cheap. I'm sure some folks will end up matching up as well. I just know it could be fun.

It's 9 AM and I need a shot!

I hope you get something going Mikey, I would be there if I could, but alas...:sad:
 
Nothing is going to go down, seems like only Gary, Jamie, Justin, and Brian Hearl are down to play. It is just after Christmas so I do understand that. Year end tourney is coming up too, I'd be happy to get something going though after that.
