Update on the Des Moines pool scene

I thought isppa was based on known ability? You are on the national masters list. How come you played as an open player? And your other guy? He is top 30 in the state. Based on known ability I would say both of you are masters players. I don't think anybody would call either of you open players and as a matter of fact you are both rated A players in dsm. How did you get by with that?
anyway your team was the better team. We are surprised we got 2nd. + the casino was good to us too.

now I know she didn't watch the hit, but I spoke to evelyn from the midwest 9ball tour and she said under bca rules that is a foul that would be called EVERY time by a bca ref. Written in black and white. Could call by the ref.

I am open in both BCA and Valley in Iowa. I have played singles about 5 different years in BCA and all 3 years of Valley. I am only a master in Vegas BCA for my 49th place finish one year out there.

Jon played both 9-ball and 8-ball and did not do good enough to move up this year in BCA, so it's hard for me to say he should be a master. I feel you should have to earn your way up.

that maybe but isppa is supposed to be based on known ability. I think anyone would be hard pressed to call you guys open players. I guess you got over on that one.

If you two are open players, you should be playing in the Tuesday tourney. Its kind of the same thing isn't it? Misrepresenting your skill level to win a handicapped tourney?

you guys know you didn't have two open players on your team.

if a top player from another state moves here, they rate him on known ability. You guys slipped through the cracks.

She also says pattern racking is against the rules. Which according to you is not. I guess people do pick and choose what rules to follow don't they ?

You know it is just like you to try and discredit our win this weekend.

and to think i wanted to be nice...........

qoute:Jon played both 9-ball and 8-ball and did not do good enough to move up this year in BCA, so it's hard for me to say he should be a master. "

I would say he is just about an elite. And most people would too. I would say you guys snuck him in. Kinda like apa in a way. Sandbagging in a handicapped tourney? But hey its within the rules right? The rules say you can do that, right?

maybe/maybe not but based on known ability that isppa is supposed to be using, I would say your team did not have the two open players required. Funny how that isn't talked about. Nobody would say you guys cheated. Well almost nobody.

I have played a lot in the Tuesday tournament Mike. I didn't even get kicked out when they started to remove all of the good players. I couldn't play anymore because of league on Tuesday nights. I just didn't start playing it again because they turned it into a C-D tournament with a different name.

I'm only guessing that I am not allowed to play anymore because of some of the removals. Maybe I still can play in it.

I knew that was coming. Pattern racking is allowed in olathe. She doesn't always use the bca rules. In the double hit instance , she judges by a case by case basis. If you read what I wrote, a bca ref(regardless of competence) will call that foul EVERY time . That is the rule.

nice but your teammate can question my character and call me names. Your team can call me a cheater (and that was the nicest one) and I ask who were your open players and now I am trying to discredit your win? It was just a handicapped tourney. You guys didn't really win anything.

we got 2nd in a handicapped tourney and we actually had an open player. We were legit. We didn't didn't sneak in 2 players based on isppa guidelines should have been on your team.

maybe I should be like your teammate and ask for the match to be played over but this time you have to play with the players that are really open level players that are on your roster. But you don't really have open players on your roster do you? Just the two you snuck in.. Good job with the win

and while I was at work today I had see the filth that was written on here and I wasn't sposed to say anything?

I know the REF made the right call. But personal agendas can't get past that.

I don't see how it matters if you feel Jon should be a master. I feel you should be an elite and yet you are not. I didn't see two open players on your team either.

They should just get rid of elite level in team play anyway. Let the masters be a true test of skill.

I was taken off the elite list. I was scrutinized by the ranking committee and deemed not worthy.. I did not sneak off of the list.
and by the way. My first state tourneys. Bca and valley? I played masters divisions in both 8ball and 9ball. I didn't start in the lower divisions just because I wasn't on some list. I knew I was a master level player and didn't lie about it. Because I knew winning the level 1 or open tourney would mean nothing knowing I cheated.

and for the smartasses: the ref made the right call. I was there: you were not. It was a foul. And anybody that says different other then edwin is not qualified to say anything. Nobody else within 15 feet of the table. It was a foul.

You know what, i am happy we won. Nothing you can do or say can take that away. I'm happy under the pressure i ran out to win it for my team.

I'll tell you what...........

Since you feel our open player was not fair, ill make you a deal. You can drop Steve and pick up ANY player who qualified in our league system for your 5th. We will put up our $2500 and you guys can put up your $2000 and we will play it out, same format.

BTW: Did you find someone to give your 2nd place plaque to?

You mean if you didn't win, people would make fun of you. You couldn't handle that now could you?

yes it went in the trash with my other 8 2nd place masters plaques. I only kept my 4 first place plaques(masters nonhandicapped).

I will make you a deal. We can play some. Even. ..

remember the time you told brian h his opinion didn't matter because he wasn't as good as you? I thought that showed no class but going by that, your opinion is worthless.

Alright Mike, how did 2ND PLACE feel? If you didn't like it the first time, maybe we should do it again, so you can cry about it some more!!! I bet it really stings that we double dipped you doesn't it? Just so you know, this isn't aimed at the rest of your team, JUST YOU, CHEATER!!!!! Maybe you can do your match over with Whitey too!! If you didn't cheat them and have a big argument, I think the result is different!!

Whitey's team got cheated, and now you want to make yourself feel cheated out of the title? It's called KARMA!!!

I bet Whitey's team would love to play you a little rematch...and I know I never get tired of making you look bad :) over and over and over and over again :)

and that is why I played in masters and in my 1st 3 state masters singles tourneys I got 1-2-2? But I didn't want to be laughed at? Wow

did you want to play 8 or 9 ball? Even or your opinion is not valid

All this talk about class is funny coming from people like you and your wife!!!
